Exclusive: Behind the Scenes at the Premiere of Butter

It was so nice to reunite with the cast of Butter for the film’s premiere in NYC! Here’s a video I shot right before I stepped out onto the red carpet:

Two companies worth mentioning among the sponsors for the premiere were: Rent the Runway and Forevermark. Rent the Runway is where I got my dress. It’s such a great concept! Anyone who wants a nice dress can rent a designer dress for a very reasonable price. Rent the Runway’s dresses are used over and over. It’s a much more eco option than buying a brand new dress you’ll only wear once.

I also wore diamonds from Forevermark. They’re sourced far more responsibly than your regular diamond. Forevermark mines maintain strict standards for minimizing environmental impact, treating employees fairly, and participating in the communities where they are located. You can learn more about their practices here. For shoes, I wore Steve Madden’s vegan black pumps. Simple, and super kind!

This movie was such a joy to work on, and there are a few fun little vegan nuggets in the script. I’m not going to spill what they are yet though – you’ll have to look for them when you watch it!

Butter opens in select cities Friday, October 5. If you can’t make it to the theater, you can also watch it On Demand or download it on iTunes.
