The work I do is Digital Automotive marketing, I help people market their businesses online. Because this is an aging demographic population, car dealers, I help bring an older clientele up to speed on processes associated with the digital age. They’re super thankful to have someone patient with them, as the process of learning all of the terminology and best practices that comes along with website maintenance can be arduous! In addition to this, I am passionate about volunteering with my local children’s hospital, and encouraging my clients to feature the work they do in their local communities, as most car dealers donate hundreds of thousands a year to local charities, events, and schools! I’m lucky to be a part of it all. Thanks, Amanda

I am a freelance stenographer and I absolutely love that I am able to have flexible hours and do the bulk of my work from home. As a single mother, it is a HUGE plus!

I was always terrible at math and science, so I’m also incredibly thankful that I was able to find a career that is nothing but English.
Being the most uninvolved person in the cases is another thing I love. I get to keep my opinions to myself which I don’t mind doing at all being that I’m such a huge introvert.

I am passionate about my work in the dental feild. I love especially working in pediatric and helping young children and educating the importance of taking care of their teeth. I love showing the children how to properly brush their teeth. Children love to learn and if you explain and praise them and just talk to them, they love to learn and make you happy by learning. The children are the biggest reason I love my job in the dental feild. It makes me happy to know I make my patients happy:)

I’m lucky enough to be passionate about the work that I do in mental health. I’ve worked with young people and adults over the years and although it can be emotionally tough, it is still very rewarding. For me, witnessing individuals achieve personal goals that they never thought possible is a privilege.

That crystal necklace is so pretty! I love this specific giveaway because I am so passionate about making others happy by capturing their sweet memories with my camera. My company, Thread, takes plastic waste from the poorest places in the world, and transforms it into jobs and fabric. We then sell the responsible fabric to apparel and accessory brands looking for a socially and environmentally responsible source material. We also track on our impact on people, planet, and profit at each step of our supply chain and share that data with our customers so that the true impact of their purchase is known. I love my job – but it has made me aware of just how dirty and unethical the textile and apparel industry is. It’s hard to find clothes where you know the materials, know where they were made, and know that you’re not supporting serious harm with your purchase. So, thank you for featuring responsible clothes in this giveaway!

I’m not working (yet), but my job as a student isn’t that great. Every time I dress up for myself, people are always asking me if I have something special going on. The same with the makeup I wear! It’s always cruelty free and natural, yet I still attract attention with it because I choose the crazy coloured natural items. I still wear it no matter the negative comments. I’m also really into blazers at the moment so it would be really nice to win this!

Hi Alicia! I am an art teacher for kindergarten through eighth grade and recently I have become vegan. I have made it my duty to use less paper and materials that are harmful to the earth and more recycled products in class. I am excited and passionate about animals, being kind to people and thinking outside of myself. In recent times, the students have made globes for an art project that I assigned them. This is to get them to think outside of themselves and more about other people. I have two more projects that I will be doing with my students: one will be a fashion show that does not use any animal products and the other is to visit a farm sanctuary with students. I mean, anyway I can get them to think about animals and going green, am I right?! I am excited about this adventure with students and eager to learn about their involvement in being more green. I believe that by teaching children in my classroom it can have a ripple effect in the real world. I am excited to see how the world is impacted by my students positive and helpful thinking and actions. Thank you for being kind to all and inspiring to me.

  • Anna Santiago

Hi, Alicia! I am a music teacher at a Title 1 elementary charter school. I teach vocal technique, ukulele, and percussion to K-6th graders.

I love my school. In its mission statement, it explains the grave importance of teaching children to lead a healthy and happy lifestyle, and how health plays a huge role in their success as a student.

During their enrichment cycle, the students pass through music class, PE, and the Edible Schoolyard which includes garden and kitchen classes. The children learn to plant, harvest, and prepare their own delicious food together.

I love being a part of this school and do believe we are making an enormous difference in the lives of the kids in this community.

    LOVE YOU!! ✌️

  • Clara

I’m currently a student studying music performance, but since moving to the city I’m not able have animals. I love animals and grew up on a ranch, so to fill the animal void in my heart, I joined the local SPCA as a volunteer. I feel like I’m giving the time and attention to animals who deserve to be loved. It’s a great feeling.

I work with children as an assistant teacher in a co op and the children are so much fun! They home school with their families 3 days a week and come in for classes 2 days. It is a joy to work with them and as I drive to work I am so thankful that I get to spend a few days a week with them. It’s super special seeing them exploring, discovering, questioning and learning. I always say to my co worker– “Where has the day gone?” They truly seem to fly by and I know it is because I enjoy my work so much!

I manage a canine retail store and grooming salon. I absolutely love being able to help people figure out what works for their dogs, what is most enjoyable for them, what will last with them, what foods/treats they would benefit from. I love helping them understand how certain grooming practices are beneficial to their dog’s health. The owner of the company I work for works very closely with local rescue groups and shelters, so I get to be involved with our local animal shelter/rescue community and events to benefit them and it means the world to me to be able to help animals!
Plus, I have the perk of on a stressful day of work, I can play with dogs! <3

When I was 10 years old I had no friends. I hated going to school as I was always the new kid – and I was not socially outgoing. My teacher recognized this and asked if I would stay indoors during recess and help two new Vietnamese girls who arrived as refugees learn English by practicing basic conversation and the alphabet with them. Fast forward to present day – I have had the privilege to be working in non-profits for 14 years connecting the community with new Americans who arrive as refugees. My hundreds of volunteers do just what I did – they help families practice English through text books and general conversation, help them achieve their goals of self-sufficiency by studying with them to pass their drivers permits and behind the wheel, citizenship tests, GED exams and more. Obviously, the overall goal of introducing community members to our newest neighbors is to create lasting friendships and to break down the walls of discrimination and misunderstanding.

Due to lack of sustainable funding I had to sadly close the doors to my non-profit a few years ago. But, I continue as a volunteer in the community to keep the mission alive.

    Hi,
This is so kind of you!
I work for the school board here in Victoria, BC. CANADA. I work as an educational assistant and work at different schools all across the district.

I work with students that have various disabilities as well as difficulties in the classroom. Many of the children that I work with are living with Autism. I feel that many kids with Autism are often stigmatized and much of the time are not given the right tools to do well in the classroom. I want to see more sensory rooms, tools, and a balance of class work done in and out of classroom. I want each child to be seen as their own person. Not simply labelled as “autistic “.

I started off working in the helping field at 19 years old. I was diagnosed with epilepsy and went for counselling as I was having a difficult time coping with the ways in which my epilepsy affected my every day life. It was a big step and took a lot of courage at the time but I went to a local epilepsy organization in Toronto and saw a counsellor.

I ended up volunteering at the organization helping with their first major fundraising event. It ended up turning into a job and I worked as an Event Planner and fundraiser on 7 of their other events over the course of the next 4 years. I then worked at 2 other organizations as a non profit event planner.

I ended up going to school for counselling and majored in mental health . I’ve worked with people with mental health illnesses, Alzheimer’s, developmental disabilities.

I feel that having epilepsy has been a blessing in disguise. If I had never been diagnosed I would have never had the opportunity to meet and learn so much from so many incredibly inspiring people .

I currently live in Victoria BC with my 15 month old son. I am grateful for my career and my Son who brings so much joy to my life.

I hope to one day start a non profit organization to help reduce stigma of all illnesses worldwide.

Hi Alicia! I adore my work! I am a Holistic Health Coach and my focus is to help women transform their lives through plant-based whole foods and simple lifestyle changes so they can feel like the goddess they truly are. I love helping women ditch the dieting mentality and find true fulfillment by living a more compassionate life for themselves, the planet and all creation. Everyday I see women reach their goals without the anxiety or pressure they previously had and do it while having a bit of fun. My goal is to help as many women get inspired and feel empowered everyday to make healthier choices for their lives.

Hi Alicia – I am a computer systems analyst for a large hospital system in the Great Lakes area. My main focus is implementing electronic medical record software that is safe and valuable for patients and physicians/nurses. Digging deeper, my primary projects are those that showcase how we use capture and react to data. It also involves building the software in a fashion so that data can be collected. We have made so many improvements to our system due to data collection. It has allowed providers more time with their patients (less time on the computer), risk of infection has gone down, length of stay has gone down, less billing errors, etc…We’ve also built dashboards that take our data and show executives things like ER wait time, cases in the operating rooms, patients with risk factors, etc…. It is such an exciting world to live and play in. We work so hard and see great results. It’s so cool knowing that we have such a big role in the community and affect so many different people!

I’ve worked at our local animal shelter for years, that alone says enough but my true passion working there is about the ‘permanent residents’. Sadly we have seniors and animals that need extra work and patience, they’re the ones that get passed over or worse – brought back. I’ve spent all of the extra time I can trying to give them plenty of attention, cozier living areas, and yes I spoil them too. When you work full time at a shelter you are spending almost the same amount of time with those animals as your own pets, it becomes an incredibly close bond. I’ve loved my job from day one but I used to get so discouraged and sad, then I decided to do something about it- that’s my passion.

I love writing. Everything about it. I love watching other people react to it (the good and the bad LOL); creating characters I enjoy; rereading and sometimes reworking stuff I’ve created; how ideas (even seemingly unrelated) branch off of one another. Mostly, I love my imagination and how free using it makes me feel.

  • Michelle K.

I smile as I write this… I worked for a wonderful family-owned finance company for 20 years before I became a stay at home mom 17 months ago. I also taught yoga with a passion for pre-natal infused with a focus on Ayurveda. In addition, I taught self-defense to women and children, specializing in working with trauma survivors. These were all such special jobs, but being a mom – a stay at home mom – has been the most FABULOUS, challenging, rewarding, amazing job I have ever had in my life! The work is delicious and at the same time can bring me to my knees. I have 3 children, 1 born of my body and 2 of my heart; my step-sons. I take great pride in making sure their favorite clothes are washed every day, in making their beds and leaving them love notes on their pillow and laying out their favorite p.j.’s, in cooking healthy and fresh seasonal food for them, in teaching them about nature, in celebrating their school soccer games, in teaching manners, in ironing, in cleaning, in kicking our shoes off and taking the time to walk in the grass when we need to get in the car and go, in spending an hour just playing while everything that needs to be done sits — all of it! I will not be able to stay home forever, but for now it is the most decadent job on the planet. I am so grateful for the experience and I’m in love. I practice gratitude to mother nature, the universe, whomever will listen – every single day- for this magical experience. It is a gift.

Hi Alicia :) Well, my make-money job is as a graphic and website designer. I work for myself and have been at it for about 9 years now! I’m incredibly grateful that I’m able to earn a living this way. But my real passion and what turns me on about life is being able to connect with people on any number of levels: veganism, the environment, health, art/film, animal love or fellow human love! I love the planet that we live on and everything about it– especially the amazingly magical ways in which we’re all connected!! So I totally geek out on that and would make it a passionate profession if I could figure out a way how :) Much love :)

I am passionate about letting people know about the latest health discoveries, so they can avoid a lot of unnecessary suffering. For example there is a vitamin D deficiency pandemic and people suffering because of a lack of vitamin D that is really a neurosteroid hormone according to PubMed. They say that having an autistic child is worse on the parents than if they had a child with a fatal disease.

They now know from studies that if the pregnant mother and baby get enough vitamin D (lifeguard levels) then the child will not get autism or type 1 diabetes (according to Psychology Today and the Lancet). They associate autism and cancer with toxins. Enough vitamin D helps the body to get rid of toxins.

This vitamin can be gotten free even if someone eats nothing from sunlight that comes from the sun of God or God’s sun. Also Doctor of Public Health, Cedric Garland, says that if people got enough vitamin D, it would virtually eradicate breast cancer. Moores Cancer Center proposes that cancer is a vitamin D deficiency.

In the late 1800s, 80% of children in North America and Europe were suffering from a terrible bone disease called rickets. While searching for the cure for this, they discovered vitamin D in 1922 and rickets was gone, saving millions of kids from suffering. But for it to work on other diseases, people need more than the amount to help rickets. In 2010, the U.S. tripled the RDA of vitamin D but how many got a memo on this?

    Hi Alicia!

I am a Children’s book illustrator and I love to paint with watercolors, a technique full of light and colors.. for me, the “kindest” technique :)

At this moment, after illustrating many books for authors, I am really inspired and starting to write my own stories for children, and hope to spread a message of loving nature and the most colorful and healthy food for the tiny ones.

    Thank you!

Hi Alicia! I am a nurse that cares for the veterans in the emergency department. I love my job in that I can care for those who make it possible for us to be free. I am able to thank them for their service by the excellent care I give them. Not only technical skills, such as starting IV’s and administering medications, but also showing them that they are cared for as individuals.. finding out what their concerns are and what I can do to help them live happier, healthier lives.

    Hi there Alicia ,

I have been blessed by your books . They came at a time when I was having bad tummy trouble and had given birth to our 7 th child .. A little blessing he is . I am a blessed wife to one, homeschool mother , and a lover of helping women be encouraged by mothering and loving who they are . The kind mama was a Godsend after another birth via c-section and hernia surgery 6 weeks after. Not sure if this giveaway is over but … Really just wanted to say thank you for taking time to be real and writing books that contain truth.

Hi, at the moment I absolutely love what I do for living. I live in Finland and I graduated last year as a public health nurse. I live in Finland (sorry about my bad english) and I think we are the only country, where there are public health nurses. It’s very similar to a nurse but in addition we are specialized in health promotion ja preventative work such as vaccinations, lifestyle counselling etc. I am specialized in maternity and childhood health and my work is very similar to a midwife. In Finland we have Neuvola which is basically a health care center for pregnant women end their partners and for babies aged 0-6 years. I start working with families when they get pregnant and will prepare couples for parenthood and of course observe the babys development. When my clients welcome the baby, I will advise them with baby care, check the babys health and of course help and encourage with breastfeeding.
Best about my work is that I develop such strong client relationships and it’s amazing to be part of their journey to being good, responsible parents. I am very passionate about healthy lifestyle and especially healthy eating. In Finland too it has become a problem, that children are over weighted or even obesed and type 2 diabetes is diagnosed with so many youngsters. That’s why I feel blessed to be working with families from the beginning, after all your lifestyle choices affect to your child from the first days after fertilization.

Okey, this was quite long answer, sorry.. I just want to say that have been reading Your website for a very long time and a absolutely love it! I’ve also seen your presentations an d you are so inspiring. I have started to look my way of living from a new aspect and thinking how can I make better choices for myself and my environment. So thank you so much!

I’m currently a student of “social work” and especially enjoying the lectures which give me space for working on myself as a person.
Would love to win this giveaway for my upcoming Bachelor presentation :)

Hi Alicia! First off I just wanted to say that you are my hero! I am absolutely in love with everything you do and think you are so beautiful and kind! I especially love the passion you have for animals. I am also an animal rights activist. I love all animals, but have a special place in my heart for dogs. I volunteer at my local animal shelter to help find cats and dogs the loving homes they deserve. Whenever I have the chance, I go and play with them and give them the exercise they need. It’s heartbreaking seeing them alone, and sometimes it ruins my whole day, but I know that I am making a difference.

    Hello!
I work full time, but in my spare time I help raise money for local people who need help (a little girl who needed a wheel chair, a little boy who has cerebral palsy who needed a special trike to help strengthen his legs etc) and I’m always talking to people about the compassionate life, how it literally benefits everything and how they can make a huge difference from one easy choice :)
