LA Native Plant Garden Tour
LA gardening friends, Theodore Payne Foundation for Wildflowers and Native Plants is having their annual Native Plant Garden Tour on April 2 & 3 from 10am-5pm. This is a self-driven, LA County-wide event showcases 41 sustainable gardens of a variety of budgets and styles.
These gardens are planted with at least 50% California native plants, and they nurture pollinators and other wildlife! Another key component of the Tour is water—all of the gardens on the Tour save water, but many also feature creative and practical water catchment and irrigation techniques, as well as permeable walkways and driveways. These are the gardens of the new Los Angeles!
Fun tip for tour-goers: bring your vegan picnic lunch and eat it at an outdoor table or on a rustic bench in a luxurious native garden setting!
For more information check out The Garden Tour website is nativeplantgardentour.org and also theodorepayne.org. Tour proceeds benefit the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wildflowers and Native Plants, a horticultural treasure of Los Angeles since 1960.
