Happy 4th! I had a major family cookout this weekend and it was a typical bash the vegan fest! While my immediate family had grown to be very supportive in my veganism my extended family…yikes!
But good news is that in between the jokes and comments I was able to share my beliefs and even had someone try out one of my veggie burgers!!!
Point of the story, while we suffer through the “God gave us animals to eat” speech, we are planting a seed that might someday become a tree of change!

Hello Alicia! I’m from Peru, right now I’m in Lima, studying on the program of Integrative Nutrition, to become a Health Coach. I listened to your conference, and I loved it! It’s amazing how identified I found myself with your story… not because I’m an actress, haha, it’s just the fact that my circle of friends and family is very… lets say they are so peruvians, we eat so much, and very spicy and lots of meet, etc… if not, we are bored or aliens from another planet, haha.

Well, I decided, 5 years ago, to become vegan… AND I DID! I’m a very happy, healthy peruvian vegan, and I couldn’t be more ALIVE! Believe me when I say that I cried while listening to your speech, because, is hard sometimes to be surrounded by close people not that supportive, to say the least, haha… Anyway, here I am, thankful for the opportunity to find people with lots of light and love and respect for the world and its creatures. I’d love to bring all this conscience and knowledge to improve my social and family circle, and make my country a better place, starting with mommies and babies. I’d love to work like you do and create that beautiful ripple effect on health and wellness alined with kindness for the planet. Thank you once again!
