So beautiful! No better way to start smoothly than with a smoothie. My general formula:

    -Unsweetened soy milk
    -Frozen berries
    -Ground flax seed
    -Baby spinach
-Peanut butter and/or vegan protein powder
-Optional dates and cocoa powder for a sweet chocolate twist!

  • Rachel

Right now my favorite breakfast is actually the Gardein Breakfast Pocket. It’s for sure an indulgence but one I love to have on occasion. Since it’s not a regular though my go to is a homemade smoothie of spinach leaves, kale, banana, strawberries, barley grass juice powder and water blended together. It’s so sweet and delicious that I crave it!!

  • Jenn

I love homemade granola with banana and cashew milk.

  • Sandy Pothier

This morning I had “pancakes” (mashes banana, coconut oil, almond butter, cinnamon) topped with homemade pumpkin butter. So good and clean.

  • Kristine Miller

Love this watch! I like to start the day with somethings warm and filling, but I don’t have a lot of time during the week. My go-to on work days is usually sliced avocado on a whole wheat english muffin sprinkled with nutritional yeast. My go-to on the weekends is a tofu scramble, with fork-crumbled firm tofu, seasoned with nutritional yeast (I LOVE nutritional yeast if you can’t tell!) and black salt, cooked in a frying pan with mushrooms, onions, garlic, and green peppers. If I have any shredded vegan cheese, I’ll throw that on top. Yum!

  • Daniele Rosman

    Almond Joy overnight oats:

    1/2 banana
    1 tbsp cocoa powder
    1 tbsp flax meal
    1 tbsp raw/unsalted almonds
    1/2 cup rolled oats
    1 tbsp unsweetened coconut shreds
    1 cup unsweetened soy/nut/rice milk

The night before: Combine all ingredients (except the banana and raw/unsalted almonds) in a bowl and stir. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning: Peel and slice the banana. Roughly chop the raw/unsalted almonds. Top the overnight oats with banana and raw/unsalted almonds, add a splash of unsweetened soy/nut/rice milk if desired and enjoy!

  • Christina Nicholson

You really cannot go wrong with sprouted toast, fresh avocado and a sprinkle of pepper! Simple but delicious :)

  • Julie Anthony

    Super cute!!!
My favorite breakfast these days is eggless egg salad made with tofu, walnuts, celery, veganaise, onions and spices. I eat this with almond crackers. Delicious!

  • Crystal Fayder

Adorable….Just starting my Macrobiotic journey, with the help of your book, The KInd Diet. So for my current morning routine i’m doing Miso soup , and some Greens with Brow Rice porridge, with a little umeboshi paste. Wish me luck! All my love and gratitude. :)

  • Katie Franc

I work early in the mornings so I usually stick to something simple. My go to lately is sourdough bread with some Nutzo nut butter spread, a banana and some crio bru with rice milk.

  • Amanda

The color of the dress is lovely!

My breakfast lately has been whole grain hot cereal (Bob’s Red Mill makes a great one that’s also gf) with dates and pepitas.

  • Tracy Childs

Hi Alicia! The dress is so amazing. I love bright colors! What cool watch! In the morning I like to go pretty light. I start with some fruit, preferably high water content and in season. I love melons these days! Fruit digests quickly, but I find it satisfying and so refreshing in the morning because I wake up thirsty! Later I have a green smoothie and my favorite these days is: 2 c kale, 3 celery stalks, 1 cup frozen pineapple, 1 cup frozen mango, 1 date, 2 cups green tea, 1/2 t turmeric, black pepper (small grind) 2 T hemp, 2 t chia, 1/2 lemon. It’s AMAZING. I hope you try it and I’ll bet Bear and his friends will love it. I’m making it for my PCRM “How Foods Fight Cancer” intro class this month! I can’t wait to share it with them! Have a great day and thank you for all that you do!

  • Teresa

I have been eating vegan breakfast burritos or vegan breakfast nachos. The nachos are just spinach tortillas, bacon tempeh, tofu, veggies and spices. So yum.
Burritos are pretty much the same just in burrito form with potatoes. I can freeze them and eat it on the way to work. I like my coffee with almond milk

  • Jendria

My favorite breakfast lately has been a green smoothie that includes ingredients like: goji, carob, banana, spirulina, chia, coconut, turmeric, cinnamon, and lots and lots of greens!

  • Joan Morris

Pretty! My go to breakfast these days is either oatmeal or a smoothie.
Oatmeal: oats, homemade almond milk, cinnamon, flax, chia, topped with banana. For the smoothie I do 1 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup frozen blueberries, handful of spinach, 1/2 banana, 1 Tbsp of flax, 1 Tbsp chia, 1 Tbsp hemp seeds, 1 Tbsp, almond butter, cinnamon. Very yummy and filling!

  • Lauren Silva

I’ve been really into dessert for breakfast recently (maybe because it’s almost fall). My favorite thing to make right now is this pumpkin pie chia pudding parfait from Oh She Glows:

  • Kate Leahey

    Homemade granola with almond milk!

  • veganessa

Love this! I was actually looking at Jord watches on-line. How amazing it would be to win yours! Okay, breakfast is my favorite so hear we go – I’ve eaten the same breakfast for almost 2 years now because I love it so much. I soak 1/4C rolled oats, 2Tb chia seeds, 1tb buckwheat groats or hemp seeds and a small handful of raisins overnight in a jar with about 1C of water. (Soaking with raisins adds sweetness) In the morning I add banana and any other fruit that is in season and in my house. This morning I added figs. I sprinkle with cinnamon and devour it. Sometimes I add a splash of a unsweetened vanilla non-diary milk for a bit of that creamy vanilla flavor. It holds me for hours, it tastes amazing and I’m basically obsessed. When I want to get crazy I’ll add cacao nibs, coconut flakes, peanut butter or anything else that sounds fun.

  • Elizabeth Tatterson

You can’t beat avocado toast! Lately I’ve been having it with jalapenos from my CSA that I pickled, and my homemade peach habanero hot sauce. The heat really gets those morning juices flowing!

  • Deena Fahrnkopf

A great clean breakfast sandwich starting with toasted Dave’s thin-sliced 21 Whole grains and seeds bread, mustard or hummus, sliced tomato, thinly sliced roasted peppers, thinly sliced red onion, butter or red leaf lettuce, and topped with follow your heart provolone. It is such a delicious meld of flavors and a great way to feel good from the start of the day!!

  • Melissa Davis

Oooh, love these! My fave (and easy) breakfast is some old fashioned oats with cranberries and cinnamon :-)

  • Marianna DeGarmo

With the kids back in school, my breakfasts have been quick and portable. My favorite lately is my homemade roasted garlic hummus roll-ups. Super yummy, quick, easy, and portable this is my go-to breakfast for busy mornings.

  • Amanda Spalt

My favorite breakfast is a handful of almonds, a couple coconut date rolls and a Kevita. It’s heaven to me.

  • Heather

I’m not a fan of eating much in the morning. I usually just have have black coffee, but today I changed it up. I had an assortment of olives and stuffed grape leaves with my coffee! I know…weird, but I couldn’t resist! It’s good fat and will get me through the next few hours of homeschool with my two boys!

  • Alejandra

My favorite breakfast is a sliced apple with peanut butter. It’s simple and easy to travel with while also being very filling and the perfect combination of fiber, fat and protein.

  • Farrah Lennon

I’m am not a morning food person and was raised Italian, so I eat spaghetti-leftover or freshly made. I add an Italian dressing mix that has herbs and garlic chunks to a bit of Marinara Sauce. Then I cut up artichoke hearts and green olives and add capers. I have been in love with vinegar since I was little, so I add a bit of that too. Our family recently made Kris Carr’s Caesar Pasta Salad, which is a new cold pasta breakfast favorite. “Breakfast” pasta keeps me going for a long time! By lunch I’m ready for breakfast and have a protein smoothie! I like to live life a little backwards- seeking small adventures every day.

  • Kyra

Acai Mana Bowl is my ABSOLUTE favorite way to start the day and so easy!

    2 cups almond milk
    1/2 cup blueberries
    1 cup acai
    1 banana
    1 tbsp monk sugar
    1/2 cup shredded coconut
    2 strawberries diced
    3 tbsp hemp seed

Blend milk, acai, and sugar until thick. Then the rest of the fruit is mixed in add the coconut and hemp on top! I’ve even mixed up the fruit with whichever is in season and still tastes awesome!!

  • Shelly Fraval

What a gorgeous earthy watch, love it!

My latest breakfast obsession is a tofu scramble recipe by Angelica at Corinth House. It’s incredibly creamy, protein-packed, savory, and loaded with healthy ingredients like veggies, turmeric, & chickpea flour. It reminds me more of the scrambled eggs my nana used to make more than any other vegan scramble I’ve tried. And my 5 yr old son LOVES it too!

    Here’s the recipe link:

  • Kristen Jacobson

Love that watch! Eco Chic! My favorite breakfast is overnight oats. Oats, almond milk, PB, chia seeds, and banana! So good and filling.

  • Rachel Mertz-Rodriguez

I always start my day with a tall glass of water and a banana. I alternate between my two favorites:
Basic peanut butter toast on whole wheat multi-grain bread
Oatmeal with walnuts, blueberries (or any other berries that I have on hand), and a few sprinkles of flax seed, raw organic cacao, and a toss of organic raw honey.

  • Amanda Williams

A banana and almond butter on a brown rice tortilla. ♥

  • Kirsten Antony

I find that I want to eat less and less lately. Just an organic apple is all I seem to need. Simple, quick and delicious! : )

  • Elizabeth Findlay

My favorite breakfast has always been straight up toast with vegan butter or cinnamon and sugar. I do like cold pizza on occasion as well.

  • Amy Janzen

Love the dress and watch! I definitely struggle sometimes to feed my kids a healthy breakfast, but this is one we all love. I call it chocolate stuff.
Melt almond butter, cacao butter, cacao powder, coconut oil, coconut chips, chia seeds,
oatmeal and maple syrup together. Pour into a dish and leave in the frig or freeze. It’s a nice sweet treat for anytime.

  • Sarah

My favorite breakfast is one with friends and family, or the company of an animal companion. If I’m in a rush, it’s a green smoothie. If I have time to make something special, breakfast will be a panini or nutrigrain cereal with spiralina (a twist on your recipe!).

  • Nichole Taylor

I love these items so my fingers are crossed!
My favorite breakfast these days is steel cut oatmeal with a little granola and brown sugar. It’s getting cooler over on the east coast so this warms me right up as well as gives me energy for the day! Thanks for your time, Nichole

  • Skye

Adorable! Mine is pretty simple and lightweight packing lots of energy! : Chia seed pudding!
I add chia seeds, vanilla coconut milk, a tad bit of vanilla extract, put it in the fridge overnight, and put raspberries on top.
Granted, it’s trending now, but I wish I came across this superfood sooner because of all the amazing benefits!

The other thing I love in the mornings are wheatgrass smoothies.
I add wheatgrass powder, one full banana, almond milk, vanilla extract, almond extract, and ice! Yum!

Suffering from endometriosis, I have come across lots of foods that I have noticed a positive difference with! It’s amazing what a change in diet can do.

  • tammy

love the dress – love vintage

  • jill

I typically eat the same thing each morning because I love it and am too busy getting the kids’ breakfasts ready to get too creative! :) My favorite is Cascadia Farms cinnamon raisin granola with fresh strawberries and blueberries, with unsweetened Rice Dream milk. Yum!

My favorite breakfast is banana and oatmeal mixed with thawed frozen mixed fruit, walnuts and chia seeds.

  • Lauren Ann Read Koslow

I like to have super duper oatmeal with any combination of flaxmeal, tahini or nut butter, cocoa, banana, maple syrup, and more options for mix-ins. I have a newborn and am breastfeeding, so this is a champion breakfast for these times.

  • Jen Adelman

My ‘breakfast of champions’ is sweet potato slices (previously boiled), quinoa, black or pinto beans–all lightly sauteed with a dash of pepper, topped with a veggie sausage pattie and slices of fresh avocado. Protein packed, lots of fiber, and completely vegan! 😀

  • Caroline

I start my day with a smoothie! I generally go for fresh or frozen greens or berries, flax seeds, chia seeds, collagen powder, supergreen powder. so yum and so filling!

  • Stephanie Logan Ruffin

greetings! i’ve followed you forever, but have never written in…. the answer to this question came to me immediately and clearly, though, so i knew this was the time to connect! —

1st, a little backstory: the 3rd (and last) of my gang is leaving for college this weekend; having been postponed by irma, she has been with us for an extra week before we head south to savannah for drop-off this weekend. we’ve had such a great summer, my “baby” and i, and one of the things that’s been the most fun and rewarding to me as a parent, is having my daughter make breakfast for the 2 of us.

this summer has had her experimenting with all sorts of super yum nommy creations, and she’s had a great time photographing our breakfasts. some of the winners include avo toast (which my kids pronounced “avagadros toast” back in the day) on toasted ezekiel with toms & sesame seeds, acai bowls (with only her imagination and sense of color and variety as her guide), favorite standby oatmeal w/raisens & walnuts, smoothie bowls and mason jar smoothies (gorrrrgeous & delicious), overnight oats & chia yogurt parfaits.

olivia has become aware of WHY we eat certain things, and is more intuned to her body and keeping it strong and healthy, than ever before. it’s very cool (and rewarding as a parent) to see her so into food and ingredients and what-works-with-what-and-why. she’s in art school and her flair has definitely been part of our breakfast creations.

bottom line……. when i read your question about what our favorite breakfast was, the answer was so totally clear to me. and it wasn’t a specific meal on a plate, but more a feeling, sort of poignant and bittersweet, but clear: my very favorite breakfast has been any number spent with olivia that she has created for the 2 of us. pulled from a website or from her creative brain, it’s been incredible to sit with her and see her so excited about whatever she’s presenting for us to taste-test. my 2017 summer breakfasts with my girl — who will be on her own in the blink of an eye, as my other 2 were! — have been my favorites.

  • Tamara Pe

Whole wheat toast with almond butter, together with a banana/soy milk/ginger/protein powder/spinach smoothie! Delish!

  • Jen Milette

My favorite breakfast is good old fashioned oatmeal with pecans and a little brown sugar. I add peaches, blueberries, or apples, whatever is in season.

  • Kimberly Shaughnessy

    Stunning watch and vintage dress!

I typically have a smoothie and peanut butter toast for breakfast. I’m usually pretty hungry since I am pregnant! My smoothies are typically made up of banana, strawberries, and spinach. If I am wanting something sweeter, I will make one with banana, cocoa powder, oats, and cashew milk. I also will have whole grain bread with natural peanut butter. Either way, I always am happy I started my day off healthily for myself and my baby.

  • Jeanne

Ezekiel cereal, mix of plant-based plain yogurt and soymilk, frozen pineapple or raspberries.

  • Brandi Young

I have been eating sardines on pumpernickel. I know it sounds awful but I only 30% feel bad for my co-workers if they are around and I am eating at my desk… I love it, though, and feel full and energized until lunch.

  • Laura Sharp

I am a cereal gal, and of course with fresh berries and now peaches too!! Beautiful outfit!

Your Crocodile Crunch! We (me and my two boys ages 4 and 18 months) can’t live without it in the mornings these days! We started calling it Dino Crunch because of the dinosaur craze happening in my house and sometimes share breakfast with our herbivore dinosaur puppets!

  • Brandie Patterson

My favorite breakfast now that it’s getting cooler out is a Brown Rice Breakfast Porridge:
    -1/2 cup brown rice
    -1 cup almond milk
    -cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
    -almonds or walnuts
    -blueberries, or figs, or mulberries

My favorite breakfast is influenced by my Lebanese background –

Take a boiled potato, smash it together with a fork and sprinkle zatar ( a middle eastern spice blend), olive oil, salt & pepper.
Eaten with fresh herbs & vegetables from the garden: mint, green & purple basil, tomatoes, cucumber & green olives.

Also, fresh fruit on the side & coffee with almond milk and sugar.

    Delicious and very easy!

  • nikitajosephine

i posted my favorite breakfast this morning, and see it is not part of the line-up here — did i do something wrong or post incorrectly? my response was so heartfelt — could you let me know what’s happened to my earlier post? i sure would appreciate it…..

    i remain a fan!

  • Talia

I love to start the day with some steel cut oats! I mix in peanut butter and mashed banana for extra protein and potassium. I also add chia, flax, and fresh fruit on top! Yum!

  • Sarah

I like to start my day with a mixture of raw nuts and a warm cup of tea. Mid morning I’ll snack on an apple. On a busy stressful day I will indulge in baked goods. I made mini muffins with spinach, steel cut oats, and dates the other day and they were pretty okay; I think blueberries would have helped.

  • Tahlia Ziedaitis

I love sweet vegetable millet yummm soo good or soup with pumkpin bread

  • Ana Silva

    Hey Alicia,
Sweet giveaway! My favorite breakfast for months now has been overnight oats. I meal prep so make 5 days worth of breakfast on Sunday. It so yummy, simple, and nutritious. I use organic gluten free oats, almond or soy milk, ground flax seed, and whatever fruit I want and maybe a bit of sweetener or banana. I top it all off with some pumpkin seeds and sliced almonds. If I use apple (which is my go to) I add cinnamon. So yum. I got to sleep looking forward to my breakfast.

    • Sarah

Ana, this sounds delicious! I am looking up recipes right now.

  • Sarah

Oatmeal with walnuts and fresh strawberries!

  • Shelly Brown

Oh my goodness!! I cannot believe what one can do with vegan egg!!! My favorite breakfast right now is vegan quiche using Vegan Egg, asparagus, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms and vegan ham!!! In a spelt crust! I even make a sauce for it with veganaise and bragg’s aminos!!

  • Marielle

Hi! I love the watch & reading everyone’s posts on favorite breakfast ideas! What a fun idea. My favorite breakfast on work days is whole grain seeded bread (our local market makes an amazing one) with red pepper hummus, avocado, thinly sliced cucumber, tomatoes, spinach, micro-greens, ground flax and a little lime. My other favorites go-tos during the week are oatmeal with chia seeds, walnuts & berries or the same but as overnight oats with oat milk. As a busy mom working in health care with 2 little ones, healthy but quick breakfast options are a necessity!
On the weekends I’ll make a tofu scramble with turmeric, mushrooms & scallions or will make vegan lemon chia seed muffins (which my little kids love thankfully!).
    All so delicious!

  • Christine Paiva-Stewart

Lately I eat a fig bar by Nature’s Bakery, the apple cinnamon flavor! That is my favorite easy breakfast right now. I just went vegan 5 months ago. Love it!!

  • Jennifer

Lord I’m easy….banana and silk yogurt! LOL

  • Julia Seeley

This dress and watch are so beautiful! Work has been a bit crazy (I work for an animal advocacy organization) so my morning breakfast routine has to be easy. I came up with a smoothie recipe that is yummy and healthy! Cashew milk, vegan protein powder, rolled oats, and frozen bananas and strawberries… all in a reusable glass container that pressed juice originally came in. Thank you, as always, for being so generous and kind!

  • Tanya Martin

My favorite breakfast is chia pudding with berries. I also like coconut yogurt with home made granola. In cold months I like a nice oatmeal or quinoa bowl.

  • JoJo

    Hi Alicia,
Thank you so much for providing so much essential vegan information and great recipes. My vegan diet started after a cycling accident as a result of a really bad vertigo attach, causing me serious breaks requiring titanium implants in my back, arm and rebuilt my face and worst of all severe brain and eye damage.

When I was able to let the nurses and my husband know what I wanted to eat, all my requests were animal free. I refused to eat anything that came from an animal or fish. My husband was surprised since I was a meat eater before the accident.

After the accident, the thought of it sickened me. When I finally got home from the rehab hospital, my husband scrabbled to find vegan recipes and found your site.

So, the breakfast he makes me starts with green tea, then a smoothy made with a combination of strawberries, mango, blueberries, banana, baby spinach, chia, hemp and pea protein, flax meal, lemon juice and coconut milk, then he makes me a hot drink with a combination of soy milk almond milk, fresh ginger, cinnamon, black pepper and turmeric (yummy). So, there you have how he starts his healing wife on a healthy start to her morning.

Thank you again for providing him and now me with so much information,

  • Lisa G

My current favorite breakfast is tofu crumble, broccoli and home fries in my airfryer. Not super hero, but really yummy!!

  • Sierra Kluson

Apples and bananas chopped up and drizzled in raw almond butter ❤️

  • Tiffany Gibson-Keeping

Whole grain toast with avocados and tomatoes…a touch of salt. Sometimes I like to add a bit of fig balsamic vinegar.

  • Christine Gamboa

I have been trying to teach my daughter to make healthier food choices in the morning, so what I started doing is getting up a few minutes earlier so that I can sit down and eat breakfast with her. We usually eat oatmeal or porridge with fruit, or toast with sugar free jam and fruit, which she loves! Our breakfasts are simple, but vegan. The best part of our breakfasts is that we are spending time together. It’s the perfect way to start off our day. She now snacks on fruit and carrot sticks instead of wanting chips. She has also started watching videos on healthier eating and is suggesting healthier recipes for all of us to eat at dinner time. Taking the time to sit down and eat a healthy breakfast has helped us get healthier AND has improved our relationship as mother and daughter which can be hard during these pre-teen years!

  • Kiran

So cute and fun! My fave breakfast lately is either avocado toast and a matcha latte OR Kite Hill yogurt with fruit and granola.

  • Katie

Hi Alicia! Thank you so much for your latest book! I’ve been reading “Kinda Mama” on my vacation home visiting family. Even though I’m not pregnant or a mama yet, (that’ll be down the road), I think it’s so informative of the kind lifestyle to be living so that when I am ready for that chapter in my life, I’ll be knowledge filled. Also–my family isn’t vegan but by me reading this book around them, it’s sparked a lot of conversation and interest in knowing more about this lifestyle! That being said, the following recipe was the #1 breakfast I made with my mom while being home. She loved it :)

Homemade granola: a generous helping of old fashioned oats, dried fruit (dates, cherries, cranberries, mango, goji berries etc), coconut flakes, chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, almonds, cashews, walnuts, cinnamon, and vegan dark chocolate (if you’re feeling naughty!). You put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. You put about a tablespoon or two of coconut oil in a pot on the stove until it’s liquified. Then you drizzle the melted coconut oil on top of your dry ingredients and mix. You lay out your wet granola on a flat baking sheet. Bake in oven at 350 for 12 minutes and viola!

My mom & I’s favorite was topping this warm granola immediately out of the oven on top of cashew yogurt with fresh cut up jersey peaches. We also loved it as a cereal, topped with blueberries and Ripple Pea Milk. That milk especially is so creamy and delicious!

Hope you enjoy my breakfast recipe with your hubby & Bear!- Katie

  • Stephanie

How wonderful of you to share. This will make a great addition to any lady’s closet. Good Luck ladies!
So, my go to breakfast is a protein packed smoothie. 20g (1 scoop) of vegan protein powder from Sprouts, 10g (1 cup) of protein from Silk Chocolate Protein Nut Milk, 1 frozen banana and 2 pumps of Torani sugar free coconut syrup. I live in the desert of Arizona to this tropical chocolaty concoction makes me feel like I am bumming on a beach under a palm tree somewhere; and it keeps me full until I find the time for a lunch break at work. I find that fast and convenient is essential for a vegan lifestyle. Not always do we have the time for a home made meal and drive thru fast food is never an option so in order to succeed at maintaining this healthy lifestyle I need to find fast recipes that are delicious to keep me coming back for more.

  • BethanyK

My favorite breakfast that I love has been granola with soy milk! Filling and tasty.

  • Carissa

Easy one! oatmeal-lemon pancakes from Cathy Fisher’s Straight Up Foods cookbook. Topped with Date Lady date syrup (only ingredient is dates!), shredded coconut, bananas and blueberries. We try to eat salt-oil-sugar free plant based and this recipe is our fav! I was so inspired by this breakfast that I planted a Meyers lemon tree last year so that I can harvest my own lemons. Last year I had two glorious lemons and this year I have 14! The future is looking bright.
Thank you Alicia for this amazing resource and for making plant based eating easier and fun.

  • Jody

Not gonna lie – I’m obsessed with the mykind organics gummies! I started taking them after I heard you talking about them on SiriusXM. I find leftovers are a great go-to when you are in a hurry – my fave would be vegan pad Thai – it always tastes better the 2nd day!

  • Allison Jaynes

Have you heard of pea milk yet? When you say it out loud, it’s a bit unnerving to any eavesdroppers! But it’s delicious. So here’s the breakfast: vanilla pea milk, one banana, scoop of peanut butter, ice. Put all into high-speed blender of choice and enjoy on your commute, morning dog walk, while reading the paper in the backyard, etc!

  • Christine Gamboa

I’ve been trying to get my daughter to make healthier food choices. What I started doing, is getting up a little earlier so that I can sit down with her for breakfast. We usually have oatmeal or porridge with fruit, or toast with sugar free jam and fruit. Nothing too complicated, just simple and vegan. The best part of my breakfast though, is sitting down with her and spending some quiet time. It really starts our day off right and gets her in the mindset for healthy eating all day long. On the weekends, we make even bigger healthy breakfasts. It’s really improved our relationship as mother and daughter, especially during these preteen years! She now watches videos on healthier eating and comes up with her own ways of cooking healthier recipes.

  • Kristina Brodbeck

These are so beautiful! I’ve discovered that warm oats are the perfect breakfast to start my day with peace before I head into my hectic work day. I often mix them with a tsp or two of organic unsweetened cocoa powder, a tsp of almond butter, a tiny bit of brown rice syrup, and sometimes topped with slices banana. It’s like a peanut butter cup, but without all the nastiness that comes with the sugar and dairy. Thank you, always, for this community. ❤️

OK. Its still summer! And I love to add into my oatmeal porridge or coconut yogurt all kinds of seasonal fresh berries and fruits that I buy from local farmers on weekend. Yum! That makes my bowl so colorful and happy! That is what I usually eat during a week before heading to work. On weekend its a pancake fiesta! Fluffy, hot, vegan pancakes with almond milk and lots of fresh berries on top. And for Mom I always make batch of granola bars that I make from your recipe, Alicia. Mom, friends, colleagues, neighbors they all just loves crunchiness and nuttiness of them. Those bars are perfect snack too. This is a great way to spread around that vegan food is the best!

My 6 year old and I LOVE mochi waffles from The Kind Mama! They give us lots of energy and stamina for the day.

My favorite breakfast is having a cup of coffee with pumpkin spice seasoning and almond milk with two salted caramel rice cakes and almond butter spread on it. As a night shift nurse, I am a light eater in the morning. Simple yet super comforting, especially for the fall season. Love you, Alicia! :-)

    Hi Alicia!
My favorite breakfast since I switched to being a vegetarian is a nice vanilla Greek yogurt parfait with almonds and fruit to keep up my protein!

Thank you so much for your website and blog. I ‘ve been eating Greek yogurt with flax seed meal.
