I’m writing two new books!! Before I get into the details, I want to thank all of you kind lifers for inspiring me everyday. Your feedback and dedication to this community is so special to me. I’m so grateful for you guys!! You’re the inspiration for my new books, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

The first book will be called The Kind Mama. With this book, I want to give women an easy-to-follow resource that’s as inspiring as it is informative. I want women to know that they have the power to not only have an amazing pregnancy without anxiety and discomfort, but also to feel beautiful while doing it.
The Kind Mama will cover fertility, pregnancy, and post-pregnancy. In other words, it will help you get knocked up, have a goddess pregnancy and birth, and grow the healthiest, happiest child! I’ll be including valuable and inspiring information from doctors, friends, and other women (as well as a section for kind-dads-to-be) and, of course, my own journey through pregnancy, birth, and raising my little one. I hope that it will be a great resource for families looking to bring their baby into a happy, healthy, and natural world.
The second book I’m working on will be called The Kind Diet Cookbook. This will be a companion to The Kind Diet, and it’ll be packed to the brim with the easy, delicious recipes your whole family can love!
The Kind Mama will be published by Rodale in 2014, followed by The Kind Diet Cookbook. In the meantime, I’ll keep you updated on my progress!
What questions would you like me to answer in my new books?

I am also curious if there are any good 'kind mama'-like books that you'd recommend before yours hits the shelf?! -

My husband and I became vegans the day after Thanksgiving using your book. He has lost 10 pounds and I have lost seven. The food has been delicious so it wasnt a big trauma. I have tried some other recipes but we both agree the Kind Diet ones have been the best. I was JUST thinking another Kind book would be great. I will buy the cookbook as soon as it's out. -
THANK YOU Alicia!!! Ive been waiting for a new book from. I absolutely loved your first book and have made nearly all the recipes-each one better than the next. It was that book that kicked off my journey. Ive been vegan nearly 2 1/2 years now and couldnt be happier! -
It would be great if you could include information about how going vegan can help with postpartum depression. I had PPD with my second child and I went vegan in order to help my mental health. It's truly amazing how big of a difference a plant-based diet can make! It's been almost a year and I am so much more in tune with my body and mental state. It would be wonderful if there was more information available for women looking for help with PPD! -

Hi Alicia! Your book changed my entire view of food! I am a week into my vegan life and am loving every minute of it. I live in NYC, and would love for you to include seasonal ideas in your cookbook. Since you mentioned visiting your macrobiotic counselor and realizing you were eating out of season/area food - it would be helpful for a newbie like me to get the hang of what to cook in the winter/spring/summer/fall. However, by the time your book comes out I hope I will have figured out a lot! Looking forward to your books and am so grateful for you sharing your information with us. Thank you thank you thank you! -
Thanks Alicia. Can't think of anything right now. Can't wait for the books! Kind Mama will be especially empowering I believe. Cassandra, I'm Irish, and I know how you feel :) My partner is Slovak, we are both eating plant based diets in a mostly non-vegan world. I live near butcher shop that's displaying a pig's head. Makes me feel sad every time i pass... I digress. In response to Cassandra's query re the traditional Mom (which is in every cutlure i think!) would be great to have a section on dealing with traditional beliefs in different cultures. Bless you all, have great weekend! xxx -

Very excited to check out your new books! If I didn't already have three youngins' I would be otherwise tempted to get pregnant just to follow your book on all things Kind during and after pregnancy :) You really are someone to aspire to be, Alicia. -

My partner is Irish and he is most definitely not vegan and honestly I doubt he ever will be. When we have kids, he isn't against raising them vegan but he has two big worries. One, how will we explain it to his traditional mom (usually would be giving the kids stuff like boiled bacon and black pudding) and two, will we make our kids the weird kids who none of the parents want to have over because it's difficult to feed them. If you could touch on that in the book that would be really helpful! -

I am so excited for your new Kind Mama book! It is exactly what I was hoping you would write :) I am raising 3 children-ages 5 through 11 months-completely vegan & can't wait to hear your ideas & stories. It would be great if you would include some information on vitamin supplements for children..what to give & why. That is still a little fuzzy for me. -
in The Kind Cookbook I'd like to see more tips about boosting my immune system with veggies and fruit.
I'd love to read a book by you with your beauty secrets and tips :) -
Yay! I think a really detailed page on how to properly drain tofu as well as cook it so its YUMMY would be great. Tofu and I have a hard time and I would love to make it more. Also, Really expressing the importance of local food/farming- CSA's etc. -
Alicia, thank you for being a super resource for all of us - I look forward to your new cook book. You are inspiring! -
Hi, I really loved your first book, however I got one suggestion for your new books. I live in Australia and over here it is really hard to find a lot of the ingredients that you use such as fake meats, cheeses, mushrooms etc. If you could include alternatives that may be available in most countries this would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to your new books. -
Is there any way in The Kind Diet Cookbook that you could include gourmet meals? I'm really into gourmet meals and cooking that for others, and/of if you know of good websites for g. meals, that would be awesome! But if you included it in your book, I'd pick up the book right away =) Happy cooking! -

Alicia!! I'm so excited for this and for you..and for us to be able to have these new books in our lives!! We're planning a child in the next few years so The Kind Mama will be just in time for us! :) AND a Kind Cookbook??? yay! -
I agree absolutely about having pictures of each recipe. Please include lots of stews and soups! I cannot wait to try new recipes. Two more years? Write fast! -
I would live to see some burritos & Mexican vegan recipes. I know you mentioned your husband loves burritos, so I bet he has some fun ideas. I feel like I could eat one everyday. Also, I would live a good Marinated Kale recipe. I just discoverd this idea from one of your recent guest bloggers. I love the idea of not having to cook kale. I can just have it ready to eat in the fridge for a few days. I think there are endless ideas for more kale recipes. Is there anyway to have a photo of all recipes? I feel like the only recipes I make are the ones with photos. I'm sure this must be more expensive, but so worth it! -
I am too excited about your book Kind Mama, hope it's out soon! Lost a pregnancy in Dec....and now on my wonderful vegan "life style"....hoping next month! Cross your fingers!!! Thank you for putting yourself out there for us ......Loves!!! -
