I love this sweet video. President Obama and Edith S. Childs tell the story of the rally where she got (then candidate) Obama fired up and ready to go:
Make sure to tune in to the first presidential debate, tonight at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT.
Have you ever been in a situation where one person transformed the mood of room like that?

Loved the video & that catchy phrase is something I'll use next time I need to muster up some extra energy or courage....thanks for sharing! -
I'm a big Obama supporter, and I have every intention of voting for him again. This video makes me sad though. Where was that man during last night's debate? The energy and charisma... last night he was more like an aloof professor. I want my president throwing a few zingers Mitt's way, making eye contact, being engaged the way he was during the last election. I sure hope he finds inspiration like that again soon! -
Has anyone seen the documentary 2016?
Barack wants to make the USA a coalition government.
I can not vote for someone who went on the view when our embassies were burning, and could not meet with the prime minister but, go to a fundraiser $$$ he lied to Jorge Ramos on Univion
Plus he ate dog meat! The US is in debt to China wake up America
Alicia I love your (vegan) blog but politics? *Not of fan of Romney either -
@Ty-K Berry Thank you for being so great. You always comment so I feel like I know you! Thanks for being a positive voice in the community! :) -
Rae & Alicia,
Sorry if I sounded "political" in my earlier post. I am for NEITHER candidate. I too love ALL of Alicia's statements, blogs, personal views, ad finitum....I simply don't "see" positive change in the present administration. If others do, super! YaY! I am always PRO Positive and ANTI Negative, so forgive me if I sounded as tho' I was UNsupportive in general. -
Ty-K Berry says nothing has happened in 4 years. But strangely, I see so many things that have happened. My business is still standing and almost fully recovered. My husband has a job again. It was bold of Alicia to share this clip. It would be so easy for the "comments" section to turn into a battle ground for various political opinions. Like Esperanza D, I too found tears in my eyes listening to this story.
Thank you Alicia for reminding us that no matter what we believe and no matter where we live, we benefit from being apart of the conversation of the governing body. Whether it's changing the planet through reduced meat consumption or changing the governing body through political discourse, the only way to initiate change is to be "Fired Up. and Ready to go".
I love this blog! -
Can't wait for the debate tonight!!! Thanks for the video Alicia!!
I'm so excited that they removed the donkey doo that was posted on here earlier...Keep up the good work you do in all areas of life Alicia.your political beliefs are yours and you arent pushing them on anybody, this is your site and you invite people to come by and blog or whatever, and if they don't like what you say on "your" site then they can kick rocks, but they don't have to do it in such a vulgar way..butt wipes!! Gosh!! -
Brought tears to my eyes. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video, Alicia. -
