deer visits cat every morning!

Feb 21, 2011 at 12:00pm by Alicia Silverstone

A friend sent me this adorable series of photos with this quote:

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace"
- Jimi Hendrix

A cat in Harrisburg has a friend that visits every morning, and the cat's owner finally took pics. Check out this adorable duo:

      Never thought I would see myself saying (or typing) this but . . that is genuinely precious. Ugh. (O;

      It is though.

      Ms. Silverstone, my wife and I l-o-v-e Blast from the Past, btw. Best wishes.

      I wish I could post a picture on here, but I rehab wildlife and every year my rottie mix dog "babysits" the fawns until they are old enough to join the group.

      I don't know about the habits of deer, but I do know a lot about cats. This cat is grooming the deer, so to the cat this deer is recognized as part of the cat's social group/family. And it does look like the deer is grooming the cat. It's totally amazing how different species can get along. We have a TNR cat - Missy- in our backyard who graciously allows squirrels to eat catfood out of her bowl. Missy will sit about a foot away, and never bother the squirrels. I'm sure it's because Missy knows I will never let her go hungry, so it's okay to share her food. And I, too, LOVE these kinds of pictures!

      I think this puts an end to the need for the question "can't we all just get along?". Well ... yes. Yes, we all can. Whether we do or not is all up to us.

      This is so adorable :) Melts my heart. For some reason, I can't help but shake the beautiful thought that they knew eachother in a past life and overlooked the boundaries of cat and deer to be friends. Like soul mates reborn and found eachother anyways. Perhaps silly, but I can't help but think it's possible :D

      I love it, I love it. Animals are so cool and they respect each other. It too bad everyone is not Vegan or at least Vegetarian. Great, great pictures. I also believe they have souls.

      I live near Harrisburg, in the central PA region and am always surprised by how many cool wildlife animals live here! We have deer of course, but we also have migrating birds of prey- like Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons and Osprey living near a local dam. It's amazing!

      What a wonderful story! I was blessed to see a a cat give birth when I was in college! My roomate and myself heard a cat meowing outside so, we opened our door and fed her. To our dismay she did not want to leave us! We shortly realized that she was pregnant and she gave birth a few days later in my room! I have never held something so beautiful and delicate!

      Animals are wonderful pets, I am so lucky to have grown up with both cats and dogs!!! <3

      My wife and I swear that our two cats are trying to speak to us when they meow. Today, one of them quite possibly said "hello." We call this cat speak "catenglish."
