Happy winter solstice, everyone!
If you’re looking for some quick, easy, and veg-friendly snacks that you can bring to a holiday get-together, here are a few ideas:
For a quick and easy, but memorable dish, I like this festive veggie platter from Whole Foods magazine that my mother in law Candy Cope sent to me. She said she would make it with Bear next year!
Just a little vegan veggie dip on the side and you’re good.
Some other simple ideas:
• A nice big bowl of fresh olives makes a sexy festive appetizer.
• Dr. Cow cheese with Melba Toast crackers is always great.
• Garlic hummus or some red pepper hummus goes great with celery and carrots for a healthy snack. Or, if you’re getting fancy, pair it with the Melba toast, olives, and some wine.
Check out my Ultimate Guide to Kind, Healthy Snacking for some more inspiration.
You can also offer to be responsible for the libations. The ingredients for my Mulled Wine are easy to pack, then you just heat them up on the stove when you arrive!

If you have a little extra time to put something together, I highly recommend my Artichoke, Mushroom, and Leek Crostini and the Artichoke Dip from page 205 of The Kind Diet. Both of those are always crowd-pleasers!
What are your easy go-to snacks?

I am going to a Xmas party filled with carnivores....therefore I am bringing tofu-lentil balls with white sauce, a tofu 'meat' pie, sweet potatoes and carrots as well as Alicia's pecan pie...which by the way broke my blender....oh well it was worth it....a food processor was on my xmas list....I shall see on xmas morning if I've been good this year....I know I've been Kind!!!! -
I will be making your artichoke dip and raw balls to bring to a holiday party tomorrow. And, as always, veggies and hummus :) -
