That's Lacy on the left. She's so funny. Next to her are Sampson and Sweety, but they have both passed.
When it rains and our dogs happen to get wet, when they go out to pee or just go out for a frolic in the rain, one of my simple joys is to dry them off with a beach towel or a designated doggie towel (a good way to reuse old towels). It's so cute!
Our pitbull Pig (whose real name is Butterfly) was so afraid of the rain, it was hilarious! Except when she refused to go outside and peed inside instead - that was not as funny. But watching her face as she struggled with the idea that it was wet outside...so cute. It was as if she was thinking, "Are you kidding me? I'm not going out there!"
On the other hand, Lacy isn't bothered by the rain at all. Both dogs are so funny when they're wet and are getting rubbed dry. If you haven't tried this, please do so and enjoy the humor and love.
Do you all love this simple act?

Aww, what well-loved doggies.
My Bonnie is the same, she's not so keen on the rain. In fact, when we had Mac, he used to sniff the air outside when it poured and turn away! Dogs are amazing.

My dog not only hates the rain, but he won't walk on a wet surface. AT ALL! So when it rains I have to pick him up (which he normally hates too) cover him and walk him to the underground (and dry) parking garage to do his business. It is truly hilarious to watch him attempt to walk on anything wet. He literally freezes.. And I can hear his thought clearly "eewwwwww". -
My Haleigh Anne is too girly girl to get her lovely feet wet and mud? Oh no, that is just unacceptable.
My other 3 love the rain, but their favorite thing is to run around the house to dry off. That is just hilarious to watch!

i think dogs look so cute when they're wet (in a pathetic, please love me sort of way).

I love drying my staffie, buddy! He loves the water if its warm so he will take showers with me and lay down in the shower lol. When its time to dry off he runs right into the towel and goes through it and does the same thing over and over while making a cute tiny growl sound. Its adorable!

We don't have dogs, but we do have 2 cats.. One of whom does not mind his baths at all! As long as the water is warm enough, he purrs and sits patiently in the tub, waiting till we wrap him up in his soft, fluffy towel. Then, of course, he wants body heat while he's drying, and will repeatedly jump up on our laps.. leaving wet spots on our laps! But he's just so cute we can't push him off or tell him no!

We also have a designated doggie towel for our little "love sponge"--Chloe, otherwise known as Huggy Bear, a mini aussie. It's like a day at the spa for her when she comes in from the rain, sits down and waits for her towel rub down. She loves the attention! Life would be so boring without a DOG in the family!:)
We're supposed to get snow tonight, yikes! I'll take the rain any day.

My dog does not mind the rain and he absolutely LOVES to be toweled off too. He loves being rubbed down. He does hate his baths, but he knows that once we are done he will get rubbed down with a towel so he stands very still in the bath.
Can't wait for the snow.....

My house is full of large dogs all the time. Usually about 8-10 because I run a rescue and foster the tough cases for training.....
We have 2 seasons at my house...dust season and mud season and I love them both. Dogs have taught me to enjoy it and have fun.....nothing so cute as to see my babies play in the rain. I call it doggie dancing in the rain and they love the massage/dry off session when they come inside. They will sit at the slider and wait for me to get a towel before they come all the way into the house:-) Dogs rule!

Alicia, I am looking at your old dogs and the wood floor and wanted to tell you how I solved the "old dogs slipping on my floor because they are weak in the rear end" problem. I put these amazing socks on them called Power Paws, http://woodrowwear.com/ My dog loves them and they stay on! She can now walk on the floors without being scared of slipping. No I am not a rep for them, just a fan. Make sure you order the size she tells you to or they won't stay on as well.

My dog is getting older now (she's 14!), so she doesn't always hear well. She will whine and bark to be let out and if I open the door and it is raining she looks up at me like, "Nevermind...I will just hold it."
Dogs are so funny.

i LOVE wet dogs! here's one of mine last winter after a similar towel drying.... so funny! she doesn't appreciate getting her paws wet at all, unless it's for the cause of a walk or hike! http://www.ahouseinthehills.com/ahouseinthehills/2010/2/15/no-more-rain.html

One of my dogs is so easygoing - he'll go out in the pouring rain and just stand there blinking up at me. My other one absolutely refuses to go out in the yard - but will happily go for a walk in the pouring rain! I've invested in good rain gear ... I've turned toweling off into a game, and they mostly love it. Mostly.
