Feeding my Vamps costar Krysten Ritter is so fun! here is what she sent me from set the other day!
"I loooove this seaweed dish thing...and I loved the cranberry quinoa dish. It tasted like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!!!! Literally was shoveling it into my face. hahahaha"
Recently, she came over to my trailer and she asked, "What's this?" sounding kind of concerned. And I said, "It must be seitan." She said, "It tastes a lot like chicken...almost too much like chicken!" I explained to her what seitan was and then later in the day, she said she loved it.
I love feeding her!

Hello Alicia & Everyone,
Your food does look very earthy & delicious; but I love seaweed in any form.
SEAWEED SALAD 101
Kelsie Ru~ to make an easy Seaweed Salad, take any seaweed and steam or simmer it briefly then depending on the weather add cooked for Winter or grated raw in Summer colorful vegies (carrots brighten up the dark seaweeds well), and add a dressing of your choice.I like Ume Su (Plum Vinegar), a drop of dark sesame oil, dash of tamari and lemon juice. For a spicy kick, grate some fresh gingerroot finely and add just a bit or squeeze it to get a few drops of the ginger juice. Avocado diced adds a nice creamy touch. As with all whole foods, chew seaweeds very well as they don't break down easily and you will be missing the nutrients then.
Has anyone seen the book: Born To Run about these Indians in Mexico who literally live on Chia Seeds and run all over the place up and down mountains sustained by these amazing seeds. You don't have to soak them long (2 Tbs. to 1 cup H2O) just 15 min.altho I like to soak mine overnite. Then you drink it as a slurry with fresh lemon juice (1 teas. or so) and it energizes, acts as a fiber cleanse, no hunger etc. etc.
Pretty amazing seeds w/ alot of Omega 3's and antioxidants galore ~ you don't even have to refrigerate the package due to all the antioxidants!
I am curious if you are aware of these great seeds that were revered by past cultures due to them being of the nutritional charts w/ so much to offer!
Enjoy every minute,
Emily
