Forks Over Knives is a documentary (to be released March 11, 2011) about how plant-based diets can reverse common diseases like heart disease and diabetes. If you live in Los Angeles, you can attend a pre-screening at Graumann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood on November 11th. (RSVP here). There are also other pre-screenings happening all over the country.
The Facebook fan page for Forks Over Knives has more information about the film and upcoming screenings. Check out the preview above and let me know what you think!

Joan Brown, I am really impressed with how you are working to educate your doctor! I am a little intimidated by my doctor, but at the same time, she comes from a culture where many of the people are vegetarian for religious reasons and so is supportive of me, but she still finds it odd that I don't drink milk!
Jenna Reese, I am overwhelmed by your results! God bless you and this diet! I became vegan for ethical reasons, but one of the other results is that it has kept my cholesterol low while my other family members struggle with heart disease and its warning signs. My dad had two heart attacks in his forties, my sister who is 37 (and very slim and active) has had to go on cholesterol medication. I would like them to see this documentary, but they would say I am "preaching."

I cannot wait to see this and to tell everyone I know who thinks this lifestyle is not powerful to see it! This really could be the solution to so many problems, and yet it is so overlooked and discredited. I am the only vegan in my family, so hopefully this documentary will show them how healthy these choices really are!

I became a Vegan after reading The Kind Life. My cholesterol in 4 months dropped from 498 to 136. Now that is spretty special. I was not over eating either. I just ate meat/cheese, the difference has been shocking, happy but shocking to my doctor. Debbie

Thank you so much for posting this. I feel very blessed to have been raised my entire life totally vegetarian (and now totally vegan) and it is SO important to get this information out to other parents who can change the lives and the health of their children with the switch to a vegan diet...I look forward to a day when consuming animal flesh will be thought of as barbariac as cannibalism...

I can't wait to see this. I just watched "Foodmatters" over the weekend. What a great, informative documentary. Food is simply the best medicine!

I became vegan two years ago and I believe my doctor is skeptical about veganism and also whether I was getting the proper nutrients but the tests have all shown I am healthy. The numbers don't lie. I recently prsented to my doctor, a memo I prepared regarding Forks over Knives. I told him in the memo that I believed all medical people should see this film. I explained a little bit about the film and the two doctors, Campbell and Esselstyn. I hope it read my memo and acts on it as far as passing on this information. We havent' had a screening as of this time in Cleveland, Ohio but I will be ready when the doors open on March 11, 2011.

I would love to see that film and show it to my husband. I really hope I'll be able to get it in Ireland.
Hope they keep up the great work.

My husband and I viewed the film a couple of hours ago here in Florida. The screening followed a Veg Fest, which was super fun. The film is very very informative and educational- the stories were also very touching. I can't wait for the film to go on tour, so others can see it!

This looks amazing. I'm probably going to hold out until the Glendale Screening. Navigating Hollywood can be a nightmare.

Dr. Esselstyn's book, Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease had a huge effect on our family's eating habits. Everyone should definitely read it along with watching the movie. I refer back to his recipes in the book all the time.

Thanks for letting us know about this! The China Study has been an important influence for me and I only wish there was a screening here in the NYC area! Really looking forward to seeing this.

French momma- Glad to know someone can feel me on this! We should just pack up and move to Cali. :)

This gives me chills! I can't wait to see it. I hope it comes out on DVD and/or is sold on iTunes, because Reno is a small market and doesn't get all movies released here. This was a powerful clip. I truly believe that eating a vegan diet is amazing in so many ways. I hope this opens the eyes of more people. We really need more people to go vegan; for the animals, for themselves, and for the environment. Ideally, of course, I dream that everyone will someday....

I was able to catch the Berkeley screening as well. It was great! Very informative, entertaining, and motivating. I'll be bugging my entire family to go see it when it comes out in March.

I know what you meen Dottie! The closest to me is about 5 hours away and sold out. Houston gets lots of artsy films, but rarely health or environment documentaries shown on the big screen. People here love their greasy fatty cowboy food too much!

I saw it in Chicago for the first pre-screening and it was AWESOME! I think that it just may be what bridges the gap for most people who don't understand (or want to understand) the many benefits of a vegetarian/vegan diet. My fiancee has actually adopted a mostly plant-based diet since seeing the movie and I couldn't be happier!

I'm so bummed! The screening in Fort Worth is sold out! :( However I am glad, but sad I will miss it; it's bitter sweet. LOL!
-
Sorry, it's just frustrating! :) But one day I hope that we will be more included in great vegan activities and restaurants!

Once again, LOUISIANA is nowhere in the screenings. I want to move. When will we get all of the great things that CALIFORNIA and NEW YORK, etc does? Hmmmmmm, ever? or never? Every time I read about all of these cool places or things to do, Louisiana is nowhere in the mix. Our state needs to get with the program!!!!

Here's a piece we did on it back in march. . .
