Beverly Hills Juice Club is my favorite juice place in Los Angeles. My dad discovered this place when he moved to LA when I was about 15, and he had been going there long before I found out about it. It has been about 10 years that I've been going there occasionally, sometimes more often!
I love many of the drinks there, but my favorite is the Banana Manna Shake with Apple Strawberry Coconut Juice. The Apple Mint Coconut juice is also so good... I also like the Orange Coconut Juice and the Tangerine Coconut Juice. And the Cinnamon Apple juice turned into a shake is great too.
This little place is great for a treat, or for when you are needing a good snack. It's insanely delicious. The guy who owns it is at the farmer's market every Sunday when my husband and I go. Christopher was determined to become friends with him... Which turned out to be a difficult task. Christopher calls him the juice dude. Anywho, we now have a nice little thing going with him when we see him. My man calls out, "Hey juice dude!", and he finally acknowledges us. It's pretty cute.
Have any of you been there? What are you favorite flavors or combos for shakes?

The Juice Dude Rocks!
I've driven down this street a bazillion times but never noticed this gem of juicy goodness. Maybe I was too busy staring at the gigantic ads at the Beverly Center. Thank you for telling us about it - because I 100% wouldn't have found it. I went midday on Saturday, so to play it safe I had your "favorite." WOW was it delicious. I'm glad you warned us about it being a little pricy -- but it was so worth it! I can't wait to take my family.

Hi Alicia!
Thank you SOOOOO much for suggesting this place. I recently spent two weeks in Cali for a meditation retreat and I made it a point to go to the Juice Club while in LA. It was AMAZING!! I had the watermelon juice blended with the banana almond ice cream. Best smoothie ever--and I've had a lot of smoothies. :) (The vegan take-out restaurant across the street, I think it is called Vegan Galore, was also pretty good) I would like to try to recreate the smoothie back here in Baltimore where I live--do you know if there is anything else to the banana almond ice cream other then frozen banana and almonds?
Also, I checked out Flore--AMAZING. I had the raw chocolate smoothie and their big salad and I was so super impressed! I also went to Cru while in the area, which was equally amazing--I recommend the Mezze platter. YUM!
When I was in San Diego I enjoyed some Peace Pies at the Little Italy Farmers market. The Saturday farmers market also has a vegan dessert stand and a green smoothie stand, which I thought was pretty exciting. I went to Veg-n-out too--not as impressed though...the food was a little too "junky" for me and made me feel sick.
So as you can see your posts were SUPER helpful to me while in Cali! Thanks so much for posting all the information.
Oh and PS--You mentioned how it is somewhat tough to get the "Juice Dude" to open up. I had to laugh when I read this because when I was there my husband and I had a pretty tough time getting him to talk to us... I decided he is just really focused on making awesome juice and there is just no time for talk! :)
Thanks again!! Keep up the awesome work. You're amazing!

Will have to remember that place if I'm ever in B.H.! At our Farmer's Market (in Pasadena) we have a guy who sells pure juices, and we call him "The Juice Guy." He's kinda cranky, but my charming dd got him to warm up to us. :) We told him what we call him, and he told us his wife is going to have "The Juice Guy" put on his headstone someday, because apparently we aren't the only ones. LOL

Thank you for your help Alicia. You are so gracious and kind.
I am flirting, just like I said I would. Really trying to like kale. Made Kale, pine nuts, leek and sesame oil sauté tonight. It wasn't bad and I know it was healing food for me.

There aren't any healthy places to eat here in the south where I live. I'd love to have some place like this to go. -

SALLY- I'm from Tampa too! (But currently reside in Nashville, we just got our first Vegan spot called Wild Cow, soo awesome!) But you should definetly check out The Grassroot Life (www.thegrassrootlife.com) And I like Keleisia Tea Lounge (http://thetealounge.com/) Found them both on Happy Cow! Hope this helps! -
I wish we had a place like this in Tampa! Just got your book and LOVE it! Thanks for the great web site & tips....I am really trying to go 100% vegan, but it's a process. -
We had one huice shop that closed down (I live in the Cayman Islands). Maybe I'll open on up! :) -
"finally acknowledges" you?? who wouldn't love to see you and Christopher at the farmers market?! :) You're awesome, Alicia. Thanks for all you do everyday. I grew up in L.A. and would love to visit this juice shop. Do you know of any great ones in the Washington DC area I could try?
