Hi Janine, thank you for the info. I have actually bought 2 types of vegan dry dog food for our 6 dogs to try out already but honestly since they have been eating since the beginning, we have not completely changed their diet to 100% vegan as we are afraid they will not thrive well. However, we have increased more suitable fresh vegetables into their diet without completely cutting off meat. The real gnawing question is I guess ethics, since we decided to go vegan because of ethical reasons as we love animals very much. Although I do not eat meat now, but because of my 6 dogs, I feel like I am still chained to this participation that cannot be broken.

V-Dog is supposed to be a good vegan dog food. I tried it with my dog, but he has a VERY sensitive system and this food made him vomit every night. Unfortantely I have to buy animal-based dog food for senstive stomachs and skin. I think some people feed their dogs straight up vegetables too, but I wouldn't feed veggies only. If you find any other vegan dog foods let us know :)

David, WHOLE FOODS! That store will be your answer to everything in this transition to veganism. You also order a lot of hard-to-find items online. Eden foods is a good online store for vegans. Get to know your famers markets as well. Hopefully you have some in your area :)

Hi Alicia! We have gone Vegan and have 6 dogs. Wondering what are your views when people ask what about when it comes to feeding your dogs? Since dogs are carnivores. Thanks Alicia.

My question is about your transition into this new lifestyle. Did you find it hard to be in social gatherings that offered minimal vegan options and no organic options? How did your friends react to your new lifestyle? I am finding it hard to be with friends who do not accomodate or understand my choices. Did you lose a lot of friends? What did you do when you went to gatherings that had no options? Thank you! Love everything you've done!

When you went vegan, how did you NOT cheat and eat bad food? I always end up going on a SAD diet binge after being vegan for even like 3 days - by 'binge' I do not mean eating meat but a lot of sweets and just bad processed vegetarian food. Thanks for doing this Alicia - your a hero to me (truly) - you just shine! By the way, your baby is so beyond adorable in pics! Kelly

I wanted to ask you about being a healthy 100% soy-free vegan (or even superhero!) I'm allergic to soy so it makes being a vegan much more difficult :( Any tips would be wonderful!

Finding motivation towards staying Vegan? Right now I'm on a bet with my friend to stay away from milk products until Christmas Eve so that I can move towards Veganism. I've been Vegetarian for 7 months now.

I was already converted to the idea of being vegan but I just finished reading your book and it's kind of what I expected to read, it was still a deception to not find anything about you except some pictures... Even if I don't really like the term "superhero" I believe it's a kind of diet in that area that I need to lose all the extra pounds I have, with a daily walk it should give impressive results... The gruesome depiction of slaughterhouses is an extra incentive, and I didn't knew that only 8% of the crop in the US is consumed by humans, the rest is used to feed the cattle...
I'm very difficult regarding food and it's going to be an obstacle even if I'm willing to try new things (reluctantly) but I do like soups especially creams (there must be ways to make a vegan version with soymilk for example)...
