This is a very dark day for me, but seeing those precious faces and the mutual love is comforting. Thank you for that. Let's all hope that 2012 brings us kindness and health and love.

This photo is so touching. It is a great reminder of why a lot of us choose a vegan lifestyle. Because the sweet moment of a mother and it's child living the way they were designed to be is not the case for the majority of animals raised for food production. I feel that there is so much to do to help make a difference in the abussive and violent world of the animal food industry. This is why I so appreciate you Alicia and those who are working to make a difference. I stepped it up last year and have been making a point to be more active in voicing this truth through hosting a radio program and a website that I hope keeps this important information out there (not just to those of us who already believe and practice it).
I encourage everyone to make this year a voice for the animals. They have no voice in their crowded pens. Please try and do something you have never done and you will be rewarded by knowing you did not just keep this knowledge to yourself. A great place to spread the word is at a local college or university. I got together with another fellow vegan this past fall and we ordered a box of brochures ( there are several places that I have been finding brochures for very reasonable: http://www.Vegsource.com and http://www.Compassionforanimals.com and http://www.mercyforanimals.com and http://www.pcrm.com ) It was so rewarding to hand out brochures to the students and we had some really great dialogue and lo and behold, a student decided to start a vegetarian club on campus this semester. I just interviewed them on my radio program which will air next Wednesday at 12:30MST at http://www.kafmradio.com
I have been stepping out of my comfort zone, we all can make a difference.

Thank you, Alicia, for sharing this beautiful picture. This image epitomizes why I'm choosing to be vegan. A mother makes milk for her own baby, whether she is human, a cow or a goat. On dairy farms, the baby is taken away from the mother, so all her milk can go to production and sales. By choosing to not eat dairy, I'm choosing to not take part in that system. I support keeping mom and baby together, the way nature intended!
