PETA recently put together the cutest picture collection of little ones who are being raised vegan, and I just had to share!

We adopted Kavi from Ethiopia last May, and transitioned him to a vegan diet shortly after. He's a healthy and happy guy, and so incredibly sweet towards animals! You can see pics of him here with his animal friends: http://journeytomamush.blogspot.com/2011/04/animal-lover-part-three.html :)

Greetings fellow Kind Lifers! My son is 3 1/2 months old and while he is on a strick diet of mothers milk at this point, my wife and I are beginning to discuss how to feed him. Though raised a meat eater, I am a SUPERHERO - that's right- with the 'S' on my chest, cape, and all ;) and my wife is a vegetarian. I'd like to raise him a vegan, and my wife wants to do the right thing also. Can anyone recommend books/literature to help guide us in our decsion? What will you do Alica?

Nothing annoys me more than when people harass me about what I choose to feed my HEALTHY baby girl. Have you noticed the people who have the most to say are the one's who appear unhealthy? My brother and sister rip into me about Ruby eating tofu, yet my brother puts Pepsi and Coke in his 2yr old daughter's sippy cup! Go figure.

Cute pics!:) I'm also raising my son vegan. He is 16.5 months old right now and cute as a button.... and healthy too!:) It's so nice to know I am not alone!:) It's can definitely be a struggle sometimes trying to explain and "prove" my choices to other people.... arrggggg.....

My Mom, who raised my sister and I macrobiotic and is the reason I'm vegan today, always told me I could spot people who were extremely healthy by how white and clear their eyes were. All of these beautiful children have the brightest, clearest eyes!

Has anyone found any good reasearch on the proper amounts of supplements a vegan should be taking during pregnancy? Specifically B-12, calcium and D?

At a friend's birthday recently, her sister was talking about this kid in her class that was being raised vegan. She was really appalled by it and said that they shouldn't be forced to be vegan - and that really appalled me. What's the difference between raising them vegan and raising them as meat eaters? Apart from health benefits, ecological impact, etc. They didn't choose to eat meat, they were forced!
I plan on raising my kids vegan when the time comes. I'll care for them too much to subject them to meat!

I am a very brand new vegan (70%)/ vegetarian (30%). I gave up meat, milk, refined sugars and eggs a week ago and am trying really hard to give up cheese too! I plan on bringing up my little girl on a kind diet. You can see pictures of her here:

I think its great for people to see healthy vegan children and adults. I think non vegans are just unsure of how a "no meat" diet can be healthy. so many people eat and plan menus around meat. I'm always asked "what multi vitaman are you taking?" none, umm vegtables. "Well how do you get protein?" The more we expose this, the more converts we will get. people just have no idea. I dont think I had any clue how and what I was hurting eating dairy and meat products. GO VEGANS!
