I wanted to share my friend Kimberly Muller's beautiful book with you. It's called Last Night I Swam With A Mermaid, and it's all about fun ways for kids to recycle, conserve water, and live green lives in general. I think what's cool about this book is that I loved reading it..so its just as fun for the parent. And the images are mesmerizing!

Here's a little video trailer for the book.
Check out the website if you want to see more amazing pictures: Last Night I Swam With A Mermaid.
What other books to you recommend for teaching children about conservation and living greener lives?

I read on the Daily Mail website about new books called 'vegan is love' which has been released that promotes Veganism to Children, I thought it was a great idea, but it seems the UK press have decides to turn it into a negative and question if a vegan diet is safe. This is the news headline on the Daily mails website, New children's book promoting veganism sparks outrage for graphic images and unhealthy diet message - but how bad is a veggie food plan for kids?
There has been a huge debate about this topic and if you read the comments on this article it shows we have a long way to go in educating people on Vegan lifestyles. When I have children i would llove to buy this book for them.

This looks great! My kids love to pretend to be mermaids in the bath.
The Lorax is an obvious choice, but I love it! -
There are so many great green books for kids, it's hard to pick one. I think my favorite right now would be Biscuit's Earth Day Celebration, since my 6-year-old read it to me for Earth Day!
Alicia, what do you think of Ruby Roth's new book Vegan Is Love? -
What a great book with a great message! I have to recommend "The Boy Who Loved Broccoli" which is aimed at getting kids to eat their veggies! It's available on Amazon.com at the link below.
