Hi Alicia, I am new here and was wondering about using nutrition yeast if you have Candida. I just found out that I have a severe infestation/overgrowt of this of this horrible stuff. I was given a kit by the Naturalpathic doctor who recognized it. Also a diet to follow, although I found a better one on-line. If you already addressed this I apologize. Is it safe to eat or bad? Thank you for your site...I really need help. I feel like I have cancer, on chemo and have a respiratory infection and the flu all rolled in. I need help to beat this. I am so tired of not sleeping and feeling like I should be dead. Sincerely and Desperately, Maggie -
What are good vitamin B12 resources for babies and toddlers? I have a 2yr9m old girl and 8 month old twin girls and we've recently switched to a vegan lifestyle. -
Hello Alicia!I'm so happy I finally signed up for an account after poking around for a couple of years.I love it!Great site and I can't thank you enough for giving it to us.Also your book introduced me to veganism and I feel so much better these days as I have been vegan for about 3 years.Anyways I would like to chat about vegan fashion and where are the best places to find these items. Also current vegan news like new info on products we use.I like to keep up to date on anything that could effect my health. -
Hi Alicia! I just started reading your book and I must say that I find it very easy to follow & understand. I have been reading many books on becoming vegan and it has just seemed so complicated that I just sit there and think its so much easier to stay vegitarian because this is way to complicated, even though I want to be vegan. So far your book is looking good. Tgank goodness. Anyways, my main question is what drugstore make up brands are vegan friendly if you know off hand. I have tried to research but not sure I really know what to look for. Thank you! -
Hi Alicia,
I read your book The Kind Diet and you said not to eat that much fruit. But I love fruit like every morning i have it. Why are we not supposed to eat that much of it? -

Read the book "The Kind Diet". Some of the recipes I want to try but I'm not sure how to identify some ingredients, for example, Daikon, Mirin, Kombu, Shoyu etc. -
Maybe we could share recipes with each other, talk about various products that are/are not available to us, and discuss how or why we went vegan. -

TJ True - I don't know the nutritional reasoning behind it but when I was nursing, my midwife told me quinoa would help increase my milk production. I added about 3/4 of a cup a day (in soup in place of rice, etc - this is going back almost 18 years now so it wasn't as mainstream and I was guessing where I could work it in). Anyway, I saw a huge increase in my milk supply within a few days. Not to mention the protein and such that quinoa provides most definitely improved the quality of the milk.

I would actually love how to gain some weight on a vegan diet. Sounds odd but I'm 16 and a bit too thin, I would love to know some healthy ways to gain weight and meet my nutritional needs as a teenager that doesn't involve stuffing my face with white bread and sugar.

Hey,
I too struggled with being underweight until I was about 18 years old. Aside from taking prescribed medicine my parents often shopped at Whole Foods and bought this protein shake (i forget what it is called). Also, dates, bananas and avocados are great, healthy foods that can help you gain weight.

I would like to know about kind household products too
AND ALSO, I HAVE A STINK BUG INFESTATION IN MY HOUSE...BEING KIND, I HATE TO KILL THEM, AND SPRAY CHEMICALS, BUT THEY MUST KINDLY LEAVE. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR INSECT PROBLEMS? ARE THERE ANY OPTIONS?
THANKS!
PS: I think you should make an anouncement about Chef Chloe's new cookbook! Love her

I, too, would like to learn how to eat vegan/organic on a budget as well as having a green home on a budget!

I travel a ton for work and live on the road once I get off of the plane. I would really like to know more tips on ways to eat healthy at airports and spur of the moment restaurants. What are the best snacks to pack when you are in a hurry? I feel like every time on go on the road it is so hard to stay on track with healthy eating. Help!

I would love to learn more about B12 deficiency and ways to supplement without pills and also learn more about how the B12 thing works in terms of physiologically.
also I have a friend who is breastfeeding and having trouble generating milk for her child, any ideas about how she can help herself to produce more? -
I would love a discussion of vitamins, protein, and veganism. I also would love a chat about recipes and a potentially ideal week of vegan food.
-
I would love to have a dicussion about how to incorporate a vegan / vegetarian lifestyle with other family members. Alicia you are so lucjy that your man is on the same wave length as you! lol
Also, I would love to become more aware of the ethical and nutritional difference in vegetarianism and veganism if the produce is quality and harmfree. For example, if you have free range eggs.

I would love to hear some thoughts (and glean some educated information) about the best way to approach birth control. As a mom of two precious daughters, my husband and I feel pretty blessed with our children, and are not sure if/when we will try for more. In the meantime, I would like to stay away from the "pill" but am curious to see what other healthy vegan women are doing. Thank you for building this discussion community! =)
