Just wanted to share this with all of you! Mark Bridges and I have been friends since we worked together on Blast From The Past, 14 years ago:
Watch his acceptance speech here
Look at his sweet, cute face! I just love him! I'm soooo happy for him. He works so hard and is so talented, so completely deserved!
He's also worked on projects like There Will Be Blood (costumes, amazing), Magnolia, The Fighter (amazing, amazing costumes, so real, so subtle, so perfect), Boogie Nights, 8 Mile, Punch Drunk Love, and Blow.
You may also remember him from The Kind Diet. The Warm Spicy Wine recipe on page 210 is all about my friend Mark Bridges; so check it out if you haven't. So yum!
When I watched this, I got all emotional. It's such a special feeling to watch someone you care about so much have such a special moment in their life. I'm just sharing cause I think it's so rad. Do you know what I mean?
Have you ever felt so proud of someone and so happy for them? I'm sure you have; tell me about it in the comments below!
PS our friend the hilarious Missi Pyle is in The Artist as well!

So great for Mark and I completely understand your feelings of pride and joy! Sometimes I get so proud of people, not only in my life, but great people I don't know who are doing something good and kind, that I get tears in my eyes.

Dear Cabbage,
The members of this site have gracefully viewed your nearly unreadable rants for some time now without comment. While opinions either positive or negative will always be expressed, your particular brand of commentary is neither. Rather, it's spewed vile composed in a sentence structure which would make a grade school teacher faint. It's not lost on me that by responding to your seemingly intoxicated writings I'm simply inviting you to write more of the same. Please don't. Instead, please learn how to construct a sentence, contribute as opposed to destroy, and enjoy the benefits of a community who's residents embrace good will.
Kind Regards...........

Personally Mark Bridges seem like a correct guy, but the nomination of "Jill Taylor" (read "Jill Tailor") for the costumes of "My Week With Marilyn" should be taken with humor, someone who is offended by that should watch the shows of UK Chef Gordon Ramsay, personally I like that compared to other things diffused here on TV... In any case when everybody start talking I hope things like that wouldn't happen anymore, there need to be a solution for these problems if we want the world to continue be round... Regarding Mark judging by what I know I would say that he's 60% Alfred Hitchcock and 40% Raymond Burr, I believe that his years as "Lars Thorwald" in the movie "Rear Windows" as I knew him are definitely behind...

That is so great congrats to him! I loved There will be blood he did a great job with the costumes. I am proud of my mother and my teenage sister everyday. they are such strong women.

There's a lot of movies I haven't seen yet, I didn't want to get biased by something I would see... I own the DVD of the movie "Blast from the Past" but to be honest the first 20 minutes I've seen seem quite average... The movie "The Artist" was really made by competent persons, Claude Berri, the father of producer Thomas Langmann is one of the best French filmmakers and apparently a friend of Milos Forman...
