Selma Blair had a little boy in July, and she's following The Kind Diet to get back to her pre-pregnancy body. Here's what she says:
"I've been following Alicia Silverstone's The Kind Diet. It helps with my clarity and endurance. In a few weeks I think I'll start getting into [the gym] when things slow down a bit -- it'll be Pilates in L.A.!"
Yay, Selma! Have any of you kind lifers followed the superhero diet post baby? How did it make you feel?

I actually started the kind diet to GAIN BACK weigh that I lost during pregnancy and breastfeeding. I only gained 13.5lbs with my second baby because with both of my pregnancies I suffered severe hyperemisis gravidarum. I actually was getting too much protein and too little carbohydrate in my diet, and really did not understand the importance of eating raw and steamed (not boiled...) produce. Aside from reflecting on animal cruelty, it really gave me the boost that I needed to focus more on my own health instead of just my baby!

I've been vegan for 9 years, and recently just had my first child. Despite eating constantly, I only gained 27 pounds during pregnancy, and am now down to 7 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight - breastfeeding and not being able to drink wine helps. :)
More importantly, I largely attribute my incrediby healthy pregnancy, easy delivery, and healthy baby to veganism. But looking good doesn't hurt!

I agree with Nicole, that's great for Selma but I'm surprised that the photo of her has an Olsen twin in it!

Thats fantastic!! I also started the kind life after having my son, Landon! I lost 15 pounds right away after he was born because I am nursing and that helps a lot. I started the diet in August when he was three months old and I have lost an additional 30 pounds since then!!! I feel so great! I am fitting into clothes that I havent worn in seven years! I only gained 16 pregnancy pounds but I have just had this extra weight on me that I have been trying to get rid of for years. I only have 6 more pounds to lose but I am loving the way I feel so much that I am thinking this might be a permanant lifestyle change for me!! As always, thank you, Alicia!!!

Great for Selma! Wonderful to hear people appreciate this "lifestyle" - I refuse to call it a diet. I feel blessed to have an autographed copy of the book. I honestly think that following the recipes and tips provided in the book have reduced my symptoms of Parkinsons. I know that my doc has reduced my medication and I can run again.
What's also wonderful is that Selma is following this which means that good habits will be passed on to her son! Woo-hoo!

How great! I hope she continues the Kind Diet long after she regains her pre-baby body. I've been following the Kind Diet for about 2 months now (vegetarian for almost 2 years) and couldn't imagine going back to my previous diet. I hope she ends up feeling the same way. It really is so beneficial in so many ways and for so many beings.
