My husband and I have not been on vacation for about hmm 10+ years. Up until two years ago he has worked the swing swift with low senority. So least to say my time and his time off were not at the same time.
He was laid off for almost year and is currently working (thank goodness) so now that he is working in the same time zone as me and everyone one else that has a normal life we can now start to really do things together.
I wish whoever wins happiness, health and congratulations...

So here's my story... my sweetheart and I have been together for 4 years and have never had a vacation just the two of us. We have very full lives, like most do.. he owns a business, I hold 2 jobs, he has 3 amazing kids that we have part of the time, you get the picture! This past Friday we made an attempt at getting away to Atlantic City for a night together! I've never been there and was stoked at the entire scenario of an exciting evening just me and my sweetheart. We hopped in the car around 6:00pm, hotel reservations made, we were on our way! About an hour and a half into the drive... dun dun dun.. the car broke down :( All we could do was laugh! We couldn't stop laughing while we were in the tow truck, the driver must have thought we were insane! In order to understand why it was so funny, you have to understand in the past 4 years, each time we drive to see his family or mine (his lives 3 hours away, mine is in Florida, 21 hours away), we have broken down! We can't seem to go anywhere by car without having to be towed! Anyway.. a tow truck came to our rescue, a friend graciously picked us up and drove us home. We ended up enjoying our weekend at home, just the two of us, which doesn't happen too often. Well I logged onto thekindlife website the day after our towing adventure and saw your enter to win a 5 day vacation through Blissmo. I told him I have to give it a shot, especially after the night before! Why not, right??
Good luck to everyone who enters and congratulations to whoever wins!!! Enjoy!

Wow, that place looks like heaven. As much as I can vividly picture myself photoshopped into one of those photos, and as cheesy as it may sound, if I were to win this I think I'd (only slightly begrudgingly) send my parents on the trip. It's been a trying couple of months for both sides of my family, with both of my grandmothers having accidents and needing major surgery at almost the same time, while their spouses are unable to care for themselves. This is has kept them apart for the better part of 4 months now, each dealing with their respective family situations during a time when I'm sure it would have helped to be able to lean on and help each other. With my younger brother just about to leave the nest for college, they had thought this coming fall would be filled with freedom. This would be such a wonderful mini glimpse into that future.
Thanks for sharing the link - looks like a really great site!

I would love to go on a vacation, this location especially Jamaica, because I haven't visited out of the country before. I travel alot but always want to end up back home in New Orleans. I haven't had a chance to visit home since I left in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. I really hope I'd get a chance to take a vacation and see a different part of the world, in an eco-friendly mindset. This or any vacation would do me well! I hope I get a chance to explore! I'm hungry for adventure!

I used to work corporate, was laid off in '08, returned to school and switched careers to follow my dream of cosmotology. Starting out in the business doesn't allow you to have to much time for yourself. In addition I bought a passport this last summer with dreams of using it one day. Unfortunately my boyfriend does not care to travel new places nor do my friends or family. I am a very pleasing person and don't care to rock the boat relationship wise, but this opportunity would be a dream come true for anyone, so I hope you will consider me.
Thank you so much for this opportunity!

I'm a little late to the game....but I just signed up @ the Blissmo site and would be beyond thrilled with a 5 day eco-friendly vacation! I haven't had a 'vacation' in 10 years, unless you count visiting family in Iowa, ha. --Which is lovely but not extremely relaxing -- I work two jobs these days and would love to put my feet up and feel pampered for a bit.

A vacation based souly on me and my well being! What would that be like? My husband and I haven't been on a vacation alone in over 15yrs. It would be so amazing to spend time doing things that would be good for us and the world and probably our marriage. And to not have to worry about the expense would be unconceivable! I would love to have the oppertunity to fall in love with my husband all over again in such a beautiful place <3

I need to disconnect from the everyday lawyer life which is extremely stressful. I'm trying to switch and start living a kind life to reduce the stress and the bad effects on my body. I getaway could be quite helpful in doing so.

I have been working in an office, full-time for the past 20 years, living a life unrelated to my true purpose. I got sucked into the consume mentality and went into serious debt. So bad that I finally had to declare bankruptcy. All of this has made it very difficult to take any kind of vacation that would be rejuvenating. Usually, when I take a week of "vacation" it means just not going to work for a week, but I don't do anything that restores balance to my life. I just stay home, catch-up on chores, and sleep, with just barely enough energy to be a little creative.
This vacation, would be the perfect way to kick off my new life that starts August 6th. On August 5th, I am being laid off from job. But instead of panicking, I've decided to follow my bliss and be a full-time artist. I'll be broke but happy - living green, living simply, and doing what makes my heart sing.
Thank you!

I was going to enter for the vacation but after reading the responses I really think that I don't need it as bad as others. And I go to Ireland every year over Spring Break so I felt almost selfish for even thinking about it. I did sign up for Blissmo anyway and I wish the very best of luck to all of you who so desperately need a vacation. I hope that even if you don't win this one that another fantastic opportunity presents itself to you. :)

My husband's in the air force, so we often don't have the time together or the means to go anywhere. We would LOVE the chance to have a week all to ourselves. We've been married seven years on the 23rd, and haven't gotten a honeymoon yet. I stay at home with my two toddlers every day, and am in DESPERATE need of a break. I've almost forgotten what it is to be human. Sustainable Jamaica sounds as amazing as it can get. It would be nice to get to go on a trip before he deploys again! This would be an amazing anniversary gift. Even if we don't win, it is still amazing to have the opportunity to win such a fabulous getaway.

Wow, this would be an amazing stroke of luck. I can't even imagine what it would be like to win. Thank you or the opportunity! <3

I am a 21 year old college student who has been working two jobs this summer while balancing an internship. I have been a vegan for over a year now and would love to go on an eco friendly vacation. It sounds divine! I try to save as much money as I can for study abroad and would love this opportunity to travel to Jamaica and indulge in a well earned vacation while spreading my love for animals and the planet. This trip be worth all the hard work during my long and hard semesters at college. I love being vegan and am so glad I read the Kind Diet!

I can't imagine how hard this will be for you too choose- every response is so deserving of this trip! All I can say is I truly need a vacation- not in anyway more than the other stories I have read but just as much! I love my carer but it has consumed my mind, body and spirit. I am trying so hard to restore balance in my life but feel I keep meeting large obstacles. I know things don't come easy in life, but just know this trip could help restore the balance in my life that I am needing so badly! I have been a devout veggi for years but sadly I can't win you over with my heroic stories of being vegan and a supper hero. I do live as kind of a life as possible while still getting my occasional Ice cream cone :) Congratulations to whomever wins this amazing trip!!!

I am a junior in college and lord knows how much stress goes with that. Also, this summer I have a job, two internships, I'm going through yoga teacher training, and I am managing a vegan/vegetarian club for my college from facebook. I tend to burn myself out. I would love a vacation for some time for self-reflection and relaxation. I would also love to just see this place so I can tell others about it and learn some new things about sustainable business by observation(a possible career for me). I don't want to sound dramatic but I am also suffering with depression. I really feel like my focus needs to be on figuring out how I can be happy right now but with school and other activities sometimes it doesn't get better but just worse. Last school year I had a hard time getting out of bed and my relationship with my boyfriend of two years suffered(but we made it through!). I believe that this vacation would give me some much needed time to focus on how I can be happy. The more peace there is within myself the more peace I can help create in the world.

This looks like such a wonderful opportunity! I am a 23-year-old graduate student going to school year round to become an elementary school counselor. Between the stresses of school and work, I would happily welcome a vacation to focus on myself and relax!

This looks like a wonderful place. I just signed up. Love organic/eco-friendly stuff. We would love this vacation. My husband and I got married on November 13, 2010. We haven't been abelto afford a honeymoon. My husband served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and was injured in August of 2007. He has been medically retired due to injuries received while serving in Iraq. He has dedicated himself to helping other Wounded Warriors through providing information and contacts and even taking wounded vets on outdoor activities. This vacation would be completely awesome for us. He can't work and I work full time, at the moment. In August, I will begin a new journey, going to Grad school. We are so excited for what the future holds for us and grateful for the life we have been given.

I'm a newlywed who couldn't afford anything resembling a honeymoon. My new husband works twelve hour days 6 (sometimes 7!) days a week. Time spent together is few and far between. Also, my awesome husband decided to become a vegan several months ago and has been doing an amazing job. So, I guess this post isn't so much about why I need a vacation, but why he deserves one.
-
hey, what can i say? i work a desk job that isn't very fulfilling to pay the bills. my free time is where i really shine, spreading the news on the vegan lifestyle, going to sanctuaries, and just trying to be outside in nature :) i don't have much of that free time and an eco-firendly trip would be wonderful! i have never been out of the country & i would love to take my hubby and finally have our honeymoon, thanks! stay kind!
