Can you believe that in this day and age the average makeup brush is still made with animal hair? Neither can we! It's not good for animals, it's far more likely to cause an allergic reaction and it's not the best way to apply makeup!
If you've made the switch to mineral makeup (like Alima Pure's powders which contain no carmine or bismuth oxychloride) you need the right brushes to go with it.
Now is the time to buy excellent, cruelty-free Alima Pure brushes because not only will Kind Lifers receive a 10% discount on selected face brushes - Alima Pure will donate $5 for each face brush sold to PETA.
If you haven't used an Alima Pure brush you are in for a treat. All Alima Pure brushes are incredibly soft and each one was designed by a makeup artist to provide specific application results:
Foundation Brushes
The extremely popular #25 Foundation Brush is gently domed to slip easily around the curves of your face. High-quality taklon bristles are densely packed making it easy to pick up the right amount of powder for sheer, buildable coverage.
The #15 Flat Top Foundation Brush has a smaller head with short, cropped bristles. This design gives heavier coverage of foundation with just one layer.
Finishing Powder, Bronzer and Shimmer Powder Brushes
Created for Finishing Powders, Bronzers and Shimmer Powders, the #21 Buff Brush and #23 Kitten Brush serve similar purposes but with different results.
The #21 Buff Brush distributes a heavier layer of product with a soft touch. The #23 Kitten Brush is ideal when you want just a sheer bit of product, like a bronzer or shimmer powder. The longer, white bristles pick up roughly half as much product as the Buff Brush bristles, but the shorter, black bristles work with the white bristles to seamlessly blend anything, even the darkest bronzer!
Half Moon Brush
The #7 Half Moon Brush is an adorable little purse-sized brush that is ideal for touching up foundation or finishing powder on the go.
From now until October 7, order any of our foundation or finishing powder brushes (#7 Half Moon Brush, #15 Flat Top Foundation Brush, #21 Buff Brush, #23 Kitten Brush or #25 Foundation Brush) and not only will we take 10% off your brush price, but we will donate $5 to PETA.
Just enter the code KindPeta when you checkout at AlimaPure.com now through October 7.

Now the coupon code works, but you can't enter your credit card's expiration date. When you click on the drop down, you see a list of months that disappears right away. I'm thinking maybe I'm not meant to have this brush. ha ha !

Wow...I had not seen that PETA has registered for an .xxx website before I made my last post. Thank you for the link, and my apologies for posting before researching. I don't normally do that!

I couldn't agree with you more Nick. There is a difference between going to an art museum, or a tasteful nude (or even a provocative advertisement), and an .xxx website.

It's about taste level and execution. We can go to museums and see great artworks featuring nude people. Do we consider that porn? If so, then I am sorry for anyone who is missing out on some fabulous masterpieces because they can't see the forest through the trees.

PETA's methods are not pornographic, they're provocative. Ask someone with expert knowledge in the field of advertising, and they will tell you that it's indeed a very intelligent way of making your point. Alicia did not "pose nude" for PETA. Look at magazines which feature women (or men for that matter) posing nude, and watch the video that Alicia did for PETA. The distinction between the two is, or at least should be, obvious. With the all of the good Alicia and PETA are doing, we should keep our eye on the prize.

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know that the KindPeta coupon code is working now!

I just bought Alicia's eco brand make up brushes- they are really nice - recycled packaging, hemp case, bamboo and cruelty free brush tips...

I fully support and love Alima's products, and would love to get a discount on products, but I will not use the coupon code because I can not support PETA. Using pornography is not an intelligent method of increasing awareness of animal cruelty.
Though Alicia herself has posed in the nude for PETA, she has done so much more to promote her cause. The kind of pornographic site that PETA is reported to be planning is not "Kind."

Can't wait to check this out. I was just noticing that my make-up brushes are getting old and yucky...perfect timing!
