Kind Lifers Craig and Tina recently shared how a kinder diet led to hair regeneration and a renewed resolve to protect the environment.

My wife Christina had a hair situation and your advice to her about veganism/vegetarianism has been a Godsend to her. As of now her hair is the healthiest it has been in years; it no longer falls out in droves like it had, and is actually growing at record speed! She is even gaining some new hairs, so her hair is thicker than it was a few years ago. Believe me, she is utterly beyond happy about it.

The life change has not only improved our health, but has strengthened our resolve and faith in protecting the environment as a whole and using it in harmony.

My wife says she would give you a hug if she could, but a virtual one will suffice.

Awww, thank you so much! A big virtual hug right back at both of you and thank you for sharing your story.

If any of you kind lifers have a success story to share, private message me or upload your story to your profile and like it. I may feature you on the homepage of The Kind Life!

It seems that there are many women now with the same problem, including me. I am wondering if the hormones being pumped into so many of our foods can be to blame. Estrogen, is major factor of many cancers as well as hair loss. Pesticides, water (esp in plastic bottles), dairy, meats, drugs, as well as the hair products we use. Any suggestions on how to safely dye your hair, without the use of cancer causing chemicals?

I've been vegeterian/vegan for about 10 years now. I say vegeterian because I sometimes eat fish (only fresh caught salmon in Alaska where I live) and mozarella cheese (one of my favorites that I still can't completely give up). Anyway, before becoming vegeterian and "almost vegan", I was eating meat and animal products every day. My hair and nails were always thin with the splits and 'cracks'. After making this amazing changes in my diet and daily habbits, my hair has been growing and looking amazing and my nails are healthy and strong.Even my mom couldn't believe that my hair was looking so vibrant and strong...hooray for the kind diet smiley-smile.gif

      You are very welcome Nicole!

Where I happen to live the best shampoo and conditioner I can find available as "Petal Fresh Organics Rosemary shampoo and conditioner". So far this one works really well out of what I have been able to try.

      Thanks again! smiley-laughing.gif

Thank you so much for your quick response. I have passed the info on to my friend.

I already eat a plant-based diet, but I continue the search for a good organic shampoo and conditioner. Maybe Alicia can post some suggestions on that!

Congratulations on having beautiful hair. smiley-laughing.gif

      Hi Nicole,

This is Tina, not my husband Craig who's account this is. I first started by going vegetarian/vegan and cutting out as many artificial ingredients and processed foods I could. It took a bit of waiting, but it was very worth it. I had been struggling for so long with hair loss and thinning it was sometimes almost impossible to wait and think anything would ever get better! Well I started to see my hair become shinier and healthier looking.

As my new way of living with vegetarian/vegan eating began to work wonders on my hair which included my hair not falling out anymore and my single hairs becoming thicker, a few new hairs began also. I then looked into supplements to help with the process and I started taking Vitamin D liquid everyday and Melatonin. Both mixed with my new diet started to work even better!

Also I only shampoo my hair with organic shampoo and conditioner. The less ingredients the better as this helped to stop stripping my hair of its nutrients, etc. My hair immediately looked and felt less damaged using organic products on my hair.

The only other thing I did was I cut my hair short at the beginning. I found that less hair fell out and it just really helped in the healing process with my body not having to worry about my hair being so long. The shorter it was, the less stress on the hair roots seemed to to a lot of good!

I hope this helps your friend. I feel for her because I know the feeling obviously and after so many long years of frustration, I finally have my hair back!

I'll keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated on any progress she makes, I sure hope what worked for me finally will help her as well smiley-laughing.gif

      Hugs,

      Tina
