I recently did a tiny role in a film called The Art of Getting By. I loved the script so much! It's a very sweet story about teen romance between two high school students in NYC. It's also a coming of age tale about overcoming teen angst and figuring out what you want to do with your life.
I saw the finished film, and I think it's really good. It stars Freddie Highmore as George, an apathetic student befriended by Sally, a popular but complicated girl played by Emma Roberts. Other cast members include Sasha Spielberg, Marcus Carl Franklin, Ann Dowd, Maya Ri Sanchez, Blair Underwood, Ann Harada, Rita Wilson, Jarlath Conroy, Elizabeth Reaser, Andrew Levitas, Sam Robards, Michael Angarano, and yours truly!
This movie had me crying at the end, and my husband also loved it, so it's good for big boys too! The Art of Getting By comes out on Friday, so check it out if you get a chance, and let me know what you think.
What movies do you plan to see this summer?

It looks like it would be a Sarah movie to me! I don't know if you remember this but a long time ago when I was a teenie bopper I had met you, Alicia Silverstone. It was very quick. You were walking downtown Vancouver with Jeff Golblum and some other lady. It was me and my girlfriend who ran over to say hi with excitment. You had told me that you were trying to be descreet. I apolagise,..I understand how it could get annoying. I wouldn't be able to live the life you live because I value my privacy to much, but that's just me! Anyhow I came across your site and was looking to learn some recepies. My boyfriend's the cook and doesn't like my cooking and so I want to improve. Great site and look forward to making a meal that has my boyfriends mouth watering.

had a look at the trailer, not my type of movie, but i think it could be inspiring for teens. movies id like to watch this season - Oceans, The Hangover, sleeping beauty(maybe), transformers 3D, Mr Popper's Penguins(sigh! JC so funny), harry potter (final movie in 3D, cant wait to put this in my past lol, so sick of harry potter movies, but i have to finish what i started, part 1 to this movie, was so bad, but hopefully this ending in 3D will make up for it), Larry Crowne (i love Tom Hanks & Julia Roberts, have always enjoyed there movies, always leaving me so connected with the world i live in, or the world id love to live in, or the type of characters that would be cool to have as real life friedns *smiles*), Grease sing-a-long (never been to one, but its a classic movie & one day ill get to watch it on the big screen again), Green Lantern 3D, rise of the planet of the Apes ( havnt seen the trailer, but a big fan of past Ape movies, so i might watch it), Viva Las Vegas (classic Elvis movie, how can u not want to watch Elvis on the big screen *smiles*), Jane Eyre ( classic story, but a little too dark & depressing for me, i like movies that take me away from this world, like Avatar, or movies that make me feel good or touch my soul/heart & connects me with life), Red Dog ( not for me, but so cute, perfect for parents with little kids, a must see movie for families to enjoy together), Conan the Barbarian ( no thanks, some movies should be left in Archives), A little bit of Heaven ( havnt seen the trailer, but good cast, maybe ill watch), Beginners (havnt seen the trailer, but good cast & story, from what i hear, might watch it), well thats june, july & august here Down Under, probably wont watch most of these movies, but should get around to watching 2 or 3. transformers & harry potter, are my must see movies, the rest i can take or leave, just depends how much free time i have & what id like to do with my free time *smiles*

My hubby and I choose to not have any television reception. We only watch movies. We purchase DVD's that we like and go to the theater at least once, sometimes twice a week. This Sunday afternoon is "The art of getting by" day.
We watch "Blast from the past" a lot!! My favorite.

So many child actors grow out of their cuteness, I love that Freddie Highmore's still cute in that geeky sort of way. And yay for Peter Bjorn and John in the trailer even if they didn't make the soundtrack for some odd reason . . . I will definitely see this one!

I would love it if A Summer Place was on netflix. I have the Theme from a Summer Place as one of my all time favorite music pieces.
