This month for my Kind Diet giveaway, I’m also giving including an outfit straight from my closet! Love this jacket and this top… and them together. The jacket is a size small and made from bamboo and organic cotton by The Batillion. I love this company, but I’m not sure if they’re still in business because their website is down. Sad. The lacy, small, off-white top is from Threads 4 Thought in organic cotton and recycled polyester.
For our January giveaway, I asked you to tell me how you’ve successfully nudged a loved one to try going kind and what you said or did to inspire them. Winner Kim shared this great story:

Kim: I love this question because I have a great story. My son, Kevin, was unhealthy, overweight and suffering from gout in his mid-twenties. He didn't want to get on medication, so he figured he would try the "gout diet". This diet is quite restrictive, and recommends only an ounce of meat per day. I've been vegetarian for many years, so I told him that I would help him on his journey. I shared recipes, and websites with him. During this time, he bought me a copy of The Kind Diet, which he also read, which was very helpful to him. He learned about nightshade plants and their affect on his health. He also gained knowledge and understanding about many other foods and their health benefits from The Kind Diet. I know it wasn't easy for him at first, but he persevered! He has lost over 40 lbs. His health, physically, emotionally and mentally, is greatly improved. He practices a vegan lifestyle now. And he's a GREAT cook!! His vegan pot pie has been the most popular dish at Thanksgiving the last two years. And when someone wants advice on where to go for Pho or Asian cuisine, they ask Kevin. I'm so proud of Kevin. I realize I helped get him started on his path to wellness, but his own strength and conviction has kept him there.

I’m so happy to hear this!! Send my love to Kevin! And send over that potpie recipe, please!

I really love all the clothes from vaute couture, but really want something comfy and cute for this spring!! There are days that are warm and you would love to wear that cute little spring dress, but there are also rainy days where you just want something comfy to curl up in..and "Friends not fashion"Sweatshirt is perfect for that! It also starts up a great conversation about why someone should go vegan!

I love shopping at local consignment shops, I think that is just one way to shop Eco-friendly! I also really love Tom's shoes! They are so wonderful and really give back to those in need! -
Completely in love with Loomstate's clothing made from organic cotton and Tencel, a fabric built from the cellulose of wood pulp harvested from organically-farmed trees. Their clothing is so cute, and carefree- perfect for taking on vacation or for day to day. Their reversible tops, dresses and skirts are adorable and promote sustainable style, which is a double positive in my book. I'm going to be living in their t's this summer. I already have been all winter! Here's a link to check them out: http://www.loomstate.org/nami-top-white-1.html -
I am dying to have the vaute couture wings jacket in Dove. I am dying to have it because it is sooo adorable and the fact that it is vegan and eco friendly makes it even more adorable! http://vautecouture.com/collections/coats/products/wings -
I really love this vintage style dress from people tree. Can be dressed up with a jacket or worn with leggings and a 'shabby' cardi for a more casual style- really versatile! Love love love!

This wallet was a gift from one of my best friends. It's one of the most thoughtful gifts I've ever recieved because the friend who gave it to me isn't vegan. It meant so much to me that she went above and beyond to support my lifestyle with a vegan gift! I love it because it gives me the opportunity to mention that it's cruelty-free AND vegan whenever someone asks me about it. It's super cute too so the compliments are endless whenever I take it out to purchase something!

I have three things that I like to do when it comes to searching for new clothes, shoes and accessories.
#1 Hunt through Vintage/Thrift stores! I love to do this especially while traveling with friends. I found the best vintage shop in Stockholm during my Masters program and I literally day dream about it. I can't wait to go back and I tell everyone who is going there about it.
#2 Raid my sisters closets :-) I do have three of them and I feel this is awesome whenever possible. We exchange things back and forth and for us it's new! I also do this with my girlfriends when they come over. I have a cabinet I keep things in when I am waiting to find them a new home. Be it clothes, sheets, cooking appliances or food that I have been given but don't eat etc.
#3 Buy new but from places that support my vegan lifestyle. My top three currently are:
1) Toms vegan shoes (added bonus someone who needs a pair is getting one)

2) Olsenhaus- I love these flats for summer

3) Gunas- I want this handbag next! Love Love Love!!!

First off I love that jacket! I also love prairie underground. Made in Seattle With Eco fabrics and sustainable manufacturing. I need some new leggings, like these. http://www.polyvore.com/beklina_prairie_underground_leggings_pant/thing?id=51565768#cs. I also would love a copy of the kind life. Love the site, haven't read the book yet. My library doesn't carry it and I could really use some new literature to get me back on track! -
This very pert purse will be my spring purchase:
http://www.mattandnat.com/product/cara-tangerine-3571/
The tangerine color is luscious but it also comes in ocean blue, camel and good ole' black. I always shop MATT & NAT for handbags and wallets.
MATT & NAT is a Montreal-based company and stands for MAT(T)ERIAL + NATURE.
Everything I've purchased from this company is gorgeous and holds up well. Click here to read about this company's vegan ways:

Enjoy! -
My husband and I just bought a t-shirt and bracelet from Common Threadz. http://commonthreadz.org/shop/theoc/mnguni/mnguni_all.php
I love this organization! It’s great to buy something that can be functional as apparel and also supports a good cause. The orphan collection is my favorite, because the kids design the artwork themselves. It reminds me of these kids every time I wear it. Plus it’s super soft and comfy! -

I'm pretty new to the kind life but I've been dying to have this sweatshirt. http://vautecouture.com/collections/women/products/friends-not-fashion-sweatshirt
Or this top.

They both look so comfy and that really speaks to one of my goals in trying the kind life. I've been a pretty high stress, unhappy person for a lot of my life, and I recently made the decision to take better care if myself and better care of the world around me in an effort to change that. Peace is my goal and I think I could be pretty peaceful in these :) -
I simply adore Vaute Couture! http://vautecouture.com/collections/men/products/james
The days of being kind and fashionable are here, it seems daily I'm finding more green / kind companies dedicated to spreading well being. As well as trying to undo or prevent more damage from occurring to our precious earth. I am very grateful for this online community and all the good will and mindfulness on display here! Peace and Light to all us Kind warriors! -
Just ordered these shoes with my Christmas gift card and am anxiously awaiting their arrival in the mail: http://www.toms.com/womens/vegan/earthwise-grey-women-s-vegan-classics
Not only are these TOMS shoes vegan and made from recycled and sustainable products, but they also mean that a child in need receive a pair of shoes. Recently I have noticed that TOMS shoes are offering more variety of vegan and non-animal tested shoes. They also have a very cute pair of wrap boots in assorted colors worth checking out :) -
Picking a favorite is so hard!!! But the first ethical shoes I turn to Cri de Coeur for sure and then I love all my Melissa shoes!
What I really want for Spring is actually probably not something I should wear out, buuuuut I'm a little obsessed with the idea of dressing pretty for bed lately and so I really want to treat myself to a beautiful nighty like this one: http://www.luvahuva.co.uk/shop/cosette-black-maxi-nightie/
Thanks so much for the giveaway! -
I'm brand new to all of this. I am borrowing my copy of the Kind Diet from the library right now, so I'd love to win a copy!
