Hi everyone!
The folks at the Los Angeles Green Festival are giving away three pairs of tickets to three kind lifers who'd like to attend this weekend's festivities!
The Green Festival is a two-day celebration of eco-friendly solutions that are working in our communities. It's happening this Saturday and Sunday, October 29-30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Festivities include presentations by more than 125 green experts, DIY workshops, films, kids activities, organic beer and wine, organic veg cuisine, music, and a marketplace of local and national green businesses and organizations. The festival is now in its tenth year and 25,000 people are expected to attend the Los Angeles event. One of my favorite eco experts, Mary Cordaro is speaking on Sunday about pregnancy, babies, and healthy home interiors. Even if you don't have kids, Mary has a ton of great tips for making any household healthier.
Anywho, if you and a friend would like to attend the Los Angeles Green Festival, leave a comment below telling me what you're most excited to see or do there! Each winner will get two tickets they can pick up at will call tomorrow.
I'll pick the three winners at 5PM PST today, so start commenting!

I'm excited about all of it! I love learning about new products that make life green. I have a green blog of my own and plan on taking it all in and sharing it. I'm also going to try and make a yoga class and you know, maybe have a glass or organic wine. :)

This sounds like a wonderful event! I am living proof (almost 50:) that a vegan diet helps you live a healthy and wonderful life. I grew up vegetarian (hippy parents on a commune:), followed macrobiotics for many years, and eat a whole food, plant based diet. Raised a child like that (and a husband:). From organic (lawn) farming to chairing the ethical eating group in our urban community, I can say that eating well during my life has given me the energy and enthusiasm to fight for food equality and health for those that are in need! There is much work to be done and it appears to be happening one mouthful at a time. I love this site and refer to it frequently. Keep up the great work everyone! You are riding the crest of an incredible wave. What an exhilarating place to be!

I would love the tickets. I plan on taking my 6 year old son who I am teaching about eating organically, living sustainably and teaching others to do the same. Your gift of tickets would be greatly appreciated.

I would love the opportunity to win the tickets and go to the festival and bring my 10 year old son. He's getting the idea about green, organic, healthy living, well, because he doesn't have any other options. LOL I would like for him to be in the presence of like minded people and be able to see for himself, "what this green thing is all about." He's amazing and so aware. I have a gluten intolerance and he looks at labels for me and tells me, "Mom, this has wheat in it." So darn cute.
I am a single mother and would be so appreciative to be able to take my son to this green festival and we could both discover new things together.

i definately want to go both days and learn all I can! My mom had ovarian cancer and I was looking at anything to help her! I found alkaline diet and it helped! She is now cancer free at 76! I found a love for integrative nutrition! I am starting school myself this Monday at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition!!! Soooo exciting. I'm am vo artist now for animation and love it...but there is just so much to learn...I couldn't pass it up!!! I've been a vergitarian since I was 10...now 42...and so much I don't know about it all! I think this weekend will help so much on my path...and with a new school tuition the free tickets would make the difference of being able to attend or not!!! You're the bomb dudette!!
Happy day

I would love to see the variety of companies that offer eco friendly options for my house. I just recently bought a non-toxic pillow made of kapok based upon one of Alicia's blog posts. I'm looking around my home seeing what else I can replace and make my home a healthier organic holistic place to be!
*and ps the pillow really works. One night my boyfriend wanted to try it and after a night of sleeping on a pillow that was most likely dipped in BFR i had a sore throat and was congested! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new pillow, and it's super comfy to sleep on.

This sounds AMAZING!!!! I would love to go! I live in San Diego, so it's not too far away. I would love to visit the exihibits, and network with others. I have been a vegetarian for 20 years, but have been gradually transitioning into vegan, and loving it. I would love to gain new insights from a food aspect. I am also interested in the Yoga classes, and so much more. Would love to win tickets!! Thanks for sharing!

Hi everyone! Personally, I am very very excited about the green festval because as a new vegetarian who is working towards completely transitioning to the vegan life style, I feel that my life has substantially changed as a result of my new way of eating. I am looking to take my new and healthy life style a step further and am planning to find a way to incorporate it into my chosen career path (I am currently working on a Master of Social Work) so I am very much looking forward to not just the food and drink aspects of the green festival, but the "movement building for sustainable communities," "Getting L.A. Off Coal," "Fair Trade and the Environment: Benefiting People and the Planet," and "Voto Latino: Shaking Up America's Political Establishment" discussions and presentations. I feel like a kid in a candy store - it seems that with this change to do what is best for myself, my body, and the planet, I have been inducted into this society and world that I never knew existed, and that sadly many people are completely unaware of. I plan to continue to learn more about the green movement as much as I can so that I help to bring awareness to those around me both personally and professionally. Thanks for Kind Diet Alicia - it has made me aware of issues that I never realized existed and has changed my life!
