Last month's kind book club selection was Shantaram. It's a book I love, so I was so happy to see how much you all enjoyed it too! Here are some of the comments you left about the book:
I love it!! This book opened doors to another world for me. I especially liked the diversity of characters he met. They gave me a glimpse of another life. - Jill
One year ago I spent three weeks in India staying in Mumbai/Bombay before heading north to Panchgani. The very beginning of the book, with the author's vivid descriptions, takes me there again. His descriptions of the smells of Bombay have returned me to a place full of hope and spiritual living - Yogini
I am not quite finished this book yet, but I wanted to get in on the discussion before it closed. At first this book was a bit difficult to get into for me, not sure why because now I can't get enough. I am practally falling asleep before I can put it down, I want to find out more but my eyes won't let me. So far an awesome read, and I can't wait to finish and find out what happens. Since I love this book so much I am going to go out and get all the book club books and read them all. Thank you Alicia for sharing your books with us kind lifers. - Amanda

Eya Sara, was just listening to Peter Godwin's interview with Elain from the Book report club radio show, and was struck by the sacrifices the author has made. I personally have no idea what it must be like to lose a home country. Just a home yes, but your country, sheesh no. the link for that interview: http://bookreportradio.com/archives.html

I really like Peter Godwin's books about Zimbabwe. There are three: Mukiwa, When a Crocodile Eats the Sun, and The Fear. Zimbabwe and Robert Mugabe are in the news every now and then, but not nearly enough. His human rights abuses are appalling. -

I love my accupuncturist! Dr. Darlen Button in Plymouth Michigan.
She has saved me many times for many different reasons. Far too much to go into here, but she is a gift from God!

For one thing I don't blame you of anything, but things have become so complicated that I don't know at all where I am, the count of messages I sent since 8 months is now several hundreds (it give me 800 but that seem high a bit), I try to be consistant but nobody remember me what I've wrote or read 5 months ago that I should remember now... That's what I call extracting the juice... Beside I have the impression that when I write something I have 75% of an answer but everybody take that as a 100%... Regarding my old female friend, I'm beginning to see that her boyfriend who kissed her in front of me have done me a favor, that's the kind of unselfish things that give a meaning to the things someone does...
