edit: I suppose this should have gone under the "Superheros" topic, but I can't delete this entry or move it! :-\
I really love that Alicia is dipping her toes into the world of interactive community building, I have followed her career, both artistically and as a spokesperson for some time, I think it's important for celebrities like you to exercise your power in the sphere of influence you effect for the positive and you have, kudos.
Woody Harrelson's VoiceYourself is an excellent resource for vegans and environmentalists/activists, but he doesn't really do much within the community he himself has built, not that I blame him for take multi-million dollar gigs and doing his own thing - but it does beg that question of what Alicia's plans for the future are.
I would love to see events organized in different communities, extending past the initial book signings to initiate contact among people, delegate community leaders to organize fund-raisers, pot lucks, cleanups.
Alicia could be an amazing mobilization focuspoint. I suppose it's more my idealism than Alicia's vision.
I have yet to read 'The Kind Life' - but plan to do so this week, but in the meantime, thank you for opening yourself up to us fans, what is your objective?
I agree, there is a lot more that can be done outside of book signings, etc... so hopefully we will get like a lifestyle wellness workshop tour or something along those lines...
I love that she is going to have medical community here to clarify, or give information to people. Just putting this site up is going to make an impact. Susan Powter has quite a bit of people on her site, and she is no way near as famous as Alicia. The kind life is hopefully going to infuse influence and information to people who can carry that out into their local community. We all need to take responsibility and infect our local areas with kindness and ecological gentleness. Alicia has plenty to share with us after these years of her journey it seems. I am very interested about her take on the Japanese vegetables and ingrediants. I think she is onto something far more complex than just telling people to be kind. I am on the edge of my seat!
Yes, I am very excited about that! The professionals on the website will be of great help (especially for people who want to become vegetarian/vegan).
