It says it is cruelty free. I am not sure exactly what that means..

If it's vegan I usually says so on the bottle or package, and some products have a V symbol on them.
But cruelty free is a huge step just make sure there is no honey or milk protein.

Thanks so much for the response. This is great info. Would you be able to recommend a vegan shampoo or condition that was decent, yet economical?

Even though L'Oreal is not an entirely vegan company, their new EverPure shampoo and conditioner is vegan. I use it and I LOVE it! It smells wonderful and makes my hair really soft. :)

The best way to find out if it's vegan is to contact the company directly by phone or e-mail or go to peta. com. Peta has an extensive list of all animal byproducts. After reviewing that, I usually go back to the ingredients and read them one by one. Yes, it's tedious, but it's really the only way to know for sure. Ingredients never lie!

Although the L'Oreal Ever Pure shampoo and conditioner may be considered vegan..they do animal testing and kill animals!!

I just got Kiss My Face "Miss Treated" shampoo and conditioner from whole foods, and I love it! It made my hair so smooth after only 2 washes. Definitely recommend it.

you can also go to innerbeauty.com it is an awesome data base of all beauty products. you can search specific ones and it will tell you what is in them, whether it is cruelty free, and if anything in it is toxic. Giovanni makes wonderful vegan products, too.

I have tried Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner. Yes, it only says cruelty-free on the bottle. Does not say vegan anywhere on the label. There are no stand-out animal products on the ingredient's label, but you never know...

Whole Food's 365 brand Shampoo and Conditioner say they do not use animal testing nor animal products :)
