My name is Heather, I am 22 and studying to be a veterinarian. I have been vegetarian since I was 14, and vegan for a year now. Going vegan was the single best thing I have ever done. I am vegan for animal rights reasons, but I try to be as healthy as possible, and I love learning about nutrition and good food. It is SO easy to be a junkfood vegan! Along with leafleting for Vegan Outreach's Adopt A College program, I try to use my health and love of cooking to spread veganism by example. Nothing hurts the cause more than a sickly vegan!
I am committed to helping all animals in any way that I can, and I am so happy to see that Alicia Silverstone has written such a fantastic book. I really think that between her book and this website she will inspire so many people to try the vegan lifestyle.
I am looking forward to learning new things and helping new vegans when I can!

Welcome! I would looooove to see you post what a typical day of foods you eat, not recipes, just what types of foods you eat for nutritional balance for a few days or so. I am really interested in that.
