Hi Everyone,

I wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the vegan world. I flirted with vegetarianism for many, many years but could not seem to let go of the dairy and eggs. I have never in my life eaten red meat or pork so it was pretty easy to kick poultry and fish.

After reading Alicia's book (read it in 4 hours because it was so intriguing!), I have decided to take the plunge into being a vegan. So far, so good. I have one issue though that I think may interfere along the line and I hoping that someone out there might be able to help.....

I have Celiac Disease and most of the prepared breads that are GF use eggs or egg products. I cannot live without bread, I really can't. Everything else I can give up but having toast in the morning is my thing. Does anyone have suggestions for GF and vegan bread or anything bread like that might help curve this one craving?!?!?

I look forward to this journey and I am much healthier and happier since I cut out dairy. Thank goodness I read Alicia's book because it sparked my inner researcher!

Thanks!

VeganAndie

You may try Ezekial Bread or other Food for Life Breads. They are vegan, and they may have a GF version too.

Hey VeganAndie~

I feel your pain. You have a couple of choices. There is a brown rice bread that I have been using called, Food For Life. They have a few vegan/gluten free yummy items. Also, you could make your own bread Bob's Red Mill has a gluten free bread mix and you can use egg replacers or ground flax seed to replace the egg. I also find brown rice cakes with almond butter and fruit spread to kick the bread craving. Hope that helps!~kymm

Hi! I searched the internet and found this promising recipe, although it looks like a lot of work! http://aprovechar.danandsally.com/?p=228The recipe is too long to copy and paste, but go to that website and you should find it. Take care!
