Is anyone out there doing the Kind Diet and working on losing weight? I'm looking for a "Kind Diet" weight loss buddy :)

Hi Dita and Bonny,

Cool! If you are able to find Umeboshi Vinegar, let me know. I have had NO LUCK. I found some umeboshi tea at the Farmer's market (it's a liquid you mix with water) so I'm going to use that this week.

Anyway, I've done this for a full 7 days and have lost 3 pounds already. I haven't felt hungry and haven't really craved anything--which is weird. I did have regular cheese instead of vegan on my tofu tacos this week, and had 1 piece of tuna sushi, but otherwise was right on these recipes and guidelines.
Breakfast I've pretty much had vegetables and brown rice in nori, granola and gluten-free cheerios in soy milk. Lunch has been leftover dinner or a salad with nuts, dried fruits, and all kinds of chopped stuff. Dinner we've had the recipes--my favorite so far is the Hearty Pinto Bean stew! The Kabocha Squash and adzuki beans is great too, although when reheated the next day was mushy and kinda yucky, so I think I'd make the leftovers into a soup next time.

Let me know how you ladies are doing and how you feel. We could do a weekly check in? How much do each of you want to lose?

Hi Kirsten! I'd love to be a weight loss buddy! I have been eating vegan for over a week, but not following the recipes yet - I wanted to finish what was in my fridge before I bought all kinds of new stuff.

This summer my son Jack wasn't able to process any of the soy or diary I was eating so I had to go on a vegan diet (I was already vegetarian). Once he grew out of it I went back to diary and could feel the difference right away. So thanks to Alicia I'm back on the vegan train and loving it.

I am trying to lose pregnancy weight and lots of it. :) I've got 20-30 lbs to lose so exercising will also be a key factor in my weight loss. It's hard for me to get to the gym during the week because there's no one to watch the baby so we go on a lot of walks. :)

Have a great weekend!!

Hi Dita and Kirsten!

I am now calling myself a MacVegan. Mostly Macrobiotics but still vegan. I too am really new at all this but I have to say that I have found my nitch from here on out. this is really how I was ment to eat. I have never felt so amazing! Only 1 week on the macrobiotics and I have lost 6 lbs!
Just got back from the local farmers market. and bought such a beautiful array of fruit and veggies. Some that I have never tried before. I felt like wonder woman while shopping. Only problem was I did not have my cloth bags with me so.. I looked like a total dork, wanting Organic but using plastic!
my new weight as of today is... drumroll please.... 174.2 ! Yahhhh baby!

How do i get on the macrobiotic bandwagon? I'm not familiar with macrobiotics. I'd love to learn more.

Hi Amy, the Macrobiotics is just like the superhero in Alicias book. I am now reading macrobiotics for dummies. there is so much info in the book. I'm new too so we can learn together!
