I am starting out vegetarian before moving on. What things should I be looking for in other products that I may not think about the fact that it may not be a vegetarian choice?? Does that make any sense??
To name just a few... Cheese, red 4(cochineal), geletin, elastin, rennet, pepsin, tallow, keratin, white cane sugar, most beer and wine (isinglass)- just what I could think of off hand. Depends on your definition of vegetarianism.....
Yep, I mean I clearly know that meat itself is not vegetarian....but my questions are with products that are made with animal products. There are alot of them out there that I WOULD have never dreamed. I guess it will be a learning process along the way.
No there many beers and wines out there that do not have isinglass, which is a gelatin from the bladders of fish usually, sturgeon fish. You can google vegan beer or vegan wine and there are a lot of options.
