So, these taste AMAZING. I'm not super big on chocolate so instead of adding the chips to them I just melted them in a double boiler and did a light drizzel of chocolate over the top.

The bad news is that they will not stay together. I'm thinking maybe I need to use less brown rice syrup. I don't know.

It calls for 1 and 3/4 cups which was almost the entire jar, so I figured I would just scrape down the sides and use the whole jar...I fear it was a bad idea. Going to have to try again and be more precise.

The are super sweet and peanut buttery, DELICIOUS!

I had everything except the chocolate chips in the cupboard so I made the yummy gooey Crispy Rice Peanut Butter treats and HELLO, who needs marshmallows?!

Mine are kinda floppy on the plate, which makes me end up taking a little gooey pinch every time I walk by them-so good! Next time is the almond butter kind maybe w/ some cranberries?!?!?

I just made Alicia's rice cripsy treats and they are amazing. I have died and gone to food heaven. If anyone has not made these yet, you must try them.

can you freeze the rice crispy treats? I made the whole batch and I don't want them to go to waste.

I have mine out for a few days now and they have stayed just fine. I don't think I would freeze them, they might get soggy when you thaw.

I'm going to try making these tomorrow. I've been eating an energy bar for breakfast everyday since college (boring I know!) I think this would be a great substitute cause its sweet and has the same type of texture along with some protein..

Awesome treats! I made the superhero variation of these treats last night and it was love at first bite. hubby loved them too. I used a box of Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice Cereal, Lundberg's Organic Sweet Dreams Brown Rice Syrup, almond butter(can't remember the brand) and a pinch of 'real salt' - my batter was plenty sticky so when i packed it down into pyrex, it made nice tight bars. Alicia - thank you for sharing your recipes!
