The weight loss tea is delicious!!! I really feel it kick starting my metabolism also. Has anyone else tried it? Question though, do you drink/ eat the pureed/ grated things in it?! I ate some but when all my liquid was gone I just chucked it. I wonder if it would work better using my Jack LaLane juicer? Any thoughts/ ideas on the tea?

PS - attended Alicia's Boston book signing today and she is such a cool chick and wrote the coolest message in my book! This book is literally saving my life! I have severe acid reflux and digestive problems that even years on meds and as a vegan didn't totally solved, but did help. In addition, due to my high stress executive job and busy lifestyle, I was suffering from (probably caffeine induced) stress and anxiety! My doctor tried to put me on meds for it but I'm choosing to be a Superhero instead! smiley-cool.gif About my nutrition, I was a major processed/ convenience food, sugar, white bread, and Starbucks junky until this book. I am happy to say that I have been feeling so much better since following Superhero, it is quite remarkable. As I was mentioning to Alicia at the signing, I feel that Superhero is even a "cleanse" from my years of being vegan, probably due to all the processed and junky food I had consumed. I would literally read the ingredient label and if it was free of animal products I would eat it not caring about the chemicals and processing that ruins the whole foods. This book is saving my butt! I am so grateful. After the 30 days I will be posting a testimonial, hopefully by then I will be off my acid reflux meds! Wish me luck everyone! And thanks A.S., a million! smiley-laughing.gif

Awww man! So I totally threw out that pulp for nothing?! Oh well...will eat it in tomorrow's tea. Thanks Alicia, Superhero is really for me, loving it so far! Thanks so much for the offer, sounds so yummy! But after the Book Fest hubby and I went to Mai Thai Vegan Cafe and are really stuffed! Plus, we are about a half hour from Beantown at the moment. Thanks, again!

So have you tried Mai Thai in China town? They make amazing food! Also, the carrot cake (and all their cakes) and bubble teas are bombo! I haven't had bubble tea since before going vegan, they make it w/ coconut milk there smiley-innocent.gif.

Kathryn, that's awesome, oh yeah you will totally love it I bet! It's good to know now that we can eat the pulp, to get the maximum benefit. Also, I noticed in the book that Alicia says as Superhero we can do about 3 meals or 1 full day per week of vegan, and still lose weight. So this week I had a rice dream mint pie (heavenly!), meal at Mai Thai, and the Hot Cocoa recipe on page 211 (so good! best I ever had!)...that was my 3 this week....felt so good to be bad! haha. You should totally try that hot cocoa if you haven't already; very tasty. Good luck with starting Superhero tomorrow. It's really awesome. Feel free to holler at me to swap recipes or for support! smiley-laughing.gif

Ahhh, so many questions. First, I want in on the weight loss group. I have been doing ( PLEEASE don't think I am horrible ) the low carb ( meat and hceese and "nasty" eating ). I have wanted for soooo long to go veg and really get healthy but am sooooo afraid of the carbs in whole grains. Will they truly allow me to lose weight? I know I shouldn't worry so much about that but I do. I bought the book today and am sooo motivated that I WILL do this. No question, I just need to jump in. But can someone please just reassure me that i WILL without a doubt drop some excess weight and not put on thirty pounds from eating carbs? Glad to be here...I am definetly looking 4ward to talking to some like minded friends. 8-)

So today i went out and bought all the ingredients for the crispy tofu with orange maple dipping sauce, and the arborio with tomato, lemon and basil, and the bok choy. LOL, I was a woman on a mission. I am sooo excited to try this. It will be weird for the rest of my family tho, my son is only 20 months so he is picky enough about what he eats, but my husband is a meat and MEAT guy ( notice I didn't say potato's )...he swears by animal flesh. He did say ( and I thought this to be sooo cute ) "baby, I will make you salads for lunch when you are working" how cute is that? So, i will report back on my first yummy meal from the book. i started reading and could barely put it down to go to sleep last night. I hope you do another one soon...I am a HUGE fan! XO

Awww that's so cool Jody! Feel free to holler at me for support or recipes. I have been vegan for many many years now and am following Superhero. I have a talent of making a vegan version of just about anything and have a good knowledge of the various substitutes out there! For example, I made a vegan lasagna and used tofu in the blender with spices to make ricotta, and used vegan sausage in it, and brought it to the work Christmas party last year and no one even knew it was vegan! After people ate it, and I told them, they were amazed! So if you can think of anything that you would like veganized, let me know, I have a recipe for just about everything. Good luck and have fun girl! smiley-laughing.gif
