Alicia,
Thank you so much for writing this book! I need to clean up my diet in a big way and your book is hugely helpful. I found out that I have Celiac Disease 3 years ago and it's been holding me back from going Veg. I'm hoping that more gluten-free folks will be able to give up meat & dairy, but it's not easy with our gluten restrictions. I just wanted to let you know that Celiac is the most common genetic, autoimmune disease there is - 1 in 133 people have it and 97% are undiagnosed. It's more common than you think. Anyways, thanks again and please keep us GF people in mind! Best book I've read in a long time!

Hi Tamara! I also have celiac and I'm finding it very challenging to try to give up meat, dairy, and eggs. When I'm at a restaurant, frequently the only gluten free things on the menu are meat and eggs. At home it isn't too bad, but away from home... hard. I'm also checking out a book "The Gluten-Free Vegan" by Susan o'Brian. It's basically a cookbook, so I'm hoping to find some good recipes in it.

Hello My GF Comrades!

I too have Celiac and I am so glad Alicia wrote this book! It helps me understand my body even more. I can honestly say that the protein I get from beans help so much! It keeps me full without any bad side effects. It is also safe. Alicia said she was on it when I mentioned Gluten-Free! She is so awesome! I can understand your concern when it comes to trying to get nutrients in your system since we are limited already. I was kind of fortunate as a child to lean on fruits and vegtables since that was our staple in the mountains and we grew everything. We very rarely had meat and it was usually for a "special" occasion. I have come back to my "ROOTS" as you could say. Back to a plant based diet. I am sure if we put our heads together, we could come up with some great recipes! Just know that you are not alone and everyone is here to support one another! All the best, Victoria
