I had been waiting for this book and finally went this past weekend to get it. I read it in a day and a half. I was so excited, well still am, but I would reall like to try and go for the superhero but I am a little overwhelmed. My boyfriend says he's not going to try it, (yet I say) but hes supportive of me which is great, but transforming my pantry is whats so overwhelming. Not that I have really too much bad thingsin there. I've always been a health nut. I havent eaten red meat in 12 years anyway so cutting everything else out is fine but it seems a little expensive to run out and buy all the things I need to go superhero, like some things I cant really pronounce, lol.... and the time to make all the recipes. Any advice?

Kristen,

Do you happen to have any asian grocery stores near you? A lot of the unknown things may be available there if they are asian style. With some things you do have to be careful because MSG might sneak its way into certain products but label reading will help you there.

I'd say start slowly and start with what you have. As for time, I haven't tried any of the recipes yet so I'm not sure how time consuming they are. Like Alicia mentions in the book though, taking a day to cook helps. I tend to cook large batches of food and reheat during the week (I'm amazed Alicia does this without a microwave!).
