Hello from Canada (Ottawa)....I just tried to make these little delights, but when I put them into the hot oil...they fell apart! I ended up with a pan of greasy, oil-soaked crumbs. However, my husband doesn't like anything to go to waste, so he threw them on a piece of bread...and ate them anyways!
Does anyone know what I might have done wrong?
(ps. I let the peas soak from 7am until about 4pm...maybe it wasn't long enough?)
Thanks, Paula

I'd also try soaking them longer - like overnight. That'll help soften them some more and maybe give that consistency you're looking for. I haven't made them yet myself but plan to sometime this week.

well my croquetts turned out yay....i guess the cast iron makes a difference lol...but discovered a prob...i only fried up enough for a serving and left the others in a container to fry later well i fried them up they fell apart?i wonder if the beans have to still be warm from cooking them and then putting them in food processor?its like they dont work if they are room temp????any sugg why that happened?

I can't speak from having made this dish yet, but you know what, I just saw this tip when someone was talking about felafel (which is a similar proposition to my mind, right?) - when making balls was giving her grief (with the falling apart, getting mushy, etc.), she made them into little patties, actually steamed them for a moment and then baked them at high temputure for a short time.

Just my 2 cents...if it helps. :)
