i just got the book, and I am looking forward to trying all the recipes. Where do i find daikin, and shoyu. Most of these vegetables and seasonings i have never heard of nor not sure how to pronounce.
I am worried i will not be able to stick to this new lifestyle if I cannot find the foods easily.
Do you have any asian markets near you?
How about Whole Foods or any other type of natural food store?
Farmer's markets?
I've seen Daikon at Farmer's markets and I've seen both Daikon and Shoyu at my regular grocery store but they are much cheaper at an asian market.
We have a H.E.B. i may call them and ask if they have some of these things. I haven"t seen a farmers market or an Aisian store.
Thanks for your quick response. I just got the book and started flipping through..i am looking forward to being healthy!
daikon is a long root-looking veggie. Most health stores have it -- some farmer's markets. shoyu is a fancy soy sauce. asian markets, health food stores -- and online.
also, the book is great but you can be healthy and vegan just by eating whole foods like veggies, whole grains, fruit , beans -- you don't have to have all the fancy and less common ingredients to be happy or healthy.
