Does anyone know of a good option?

Ooo, good one, I've wondered about this - isn't it by definition biodegradable, etc? I know, I'm naive and beginning!

I know Trader Joe's has a...I think it's cedar-based one - maybe that? My kitty was fine with it, but it sooooo doesn't go as far as the regular (perhaps unkind?) clay ones...dunno!

Well i know that the major brands of litter...like fresh step, tidy cats etc. aren't too healthy for your cat. You know when you fill up the litter box and a huge cloud of dust forms - not overly healthy for their lungs! But i'm not sure what to use.
Karen, are you talking about the "pellet"-like things? I tried that a while ago after my kitten's amputation (I was a afraid the clay would stick to his wound) and my cats HATED it!

Ok so I found something called "The World's Best Cat Litter" that claims to be made of corn and 100% natural ingredients, clumps, and deodorizes. It sounds entirely too good to be true. Anyone know of it? Is it really the "miracle" I have been looking for? I also looked into Feline Pine. Help!

Hmm, so in case anyone is interested - I bought the World Best Cat Litter (a tad expensive) and it actually does clump, and it works great! My cats seem to like it, there is NO dust. So far I love it.

Does it track all over the place? Thats the thing I hate about cat liter, my baby gets it everywhere and ir feels like sand under ur feet.

It does track a bit, but no more than the fresh step that I used to use. I just put a mat outside of it, and that really helps.

I work at a (natural/health type) cat and dog supply store and also have two cats.. I am not a fan of the worlds best litter, I could not stand the smell, it does clump wonderful and does not track as much as some litter.
I use swheat scoop litter, its made from wheat, it smells great, clumps great, it does have some dust when you first pour it and it tracks a little less then most litters.
You can find swheat scoop in almost every pet store and some grocery stores also carry it.
I also recently bought a dome shape litter box, its amazing! it has steps that catch all the litter of the paws if you put a nice tracking mat under it you will never have litter all over the house again.

I have 2 adult male cats- so we have two separate litter boxes- and we have experimented with two different ones. The two things that were most important to me were the ability to clump- it makes cleaning soooo much easier- and no odor- and of course have it be good for the environment and my two boys.
Right now we are using Multi-Cat Swheat Scoop Litter.
I like it so far, the only thing that I've noticed is that it tends to.. spread outside the box further than some litters- even though we have the little litter paw pads outside each box.. The nice thing about this brand too is that you can flush it down the toliet.
The other that we tried was made out of corn and I liked it just as well as the Wheat. I don't recall the name- but I got both of these at Pet's Mart and they weren't a noticable price difference from Fresh Step- which is what we used to buy.
One thing is that you are supposed to phase the cats out of the old litter like you do food- so you are supposed to mix and then eventually go all new litter. I would really recommended this because one of my little guys had an issue switching right away- he would use the box that had the old litter in it until we started mixing both of the boxes.
Happy shopping!
