Hi everyone my name is Bobbie ! :)
I am new to the vegetarian/vegan life and am feeling a bit overwhelmed at times when it comes to food choices as well household/personal items that are Envio friendly as well as don't test on animals. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on which brands to stay away from? I am looking for cleaning items, laundry detergent, deodorant, toothpaste, makeup, etc. Thanks for all of you help.
I have been eating Veggie for a couple of weeks now and feel TONS better! My skin looks amazing as does my hair and I have lots more energy. Oh also I have been reading up on Wheat grass and the amazing benefits it has, but living in Oregon I do not know where i can find wheat grass juice or even how to juice it myself. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks :)

www.aveda.com (fav)

Books that will help you: Shopping Guide For Caring Consumers and Making Kind Choices. Buy Gilette razors- they are the only major manufacturer to declare a moratorium on animal testing. There are razors for sale on PeTA's website as well, which are more environmentally friendly- but they tore up my legs! If you have a Whole Foods or a Wegmans near you- both have extensive organic beauty sections. Look for these beauty and hygeine products- Nature's Gate, Alba, Jason, Kiss My Face, Tom's of Maine, Pureology. The leaping bunny logo means the product hasn't been tested on animals but it doesn't mean there aren't any animal derived ingredients. If it says Vegan, you are good to go. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions at all! And please do not feel pressure to veganize overnight. Use what you have. Do not waste your un-vegan products. Replace with vegan items over time as you run out. This is an exciting and enjoyable process. Don't stress yourself out trying to rush it or be perfect!! Have fun!

Your Welcome Angi! I just realized a glaring omission...SHOES & BAGS...duh. Ok here's my 2 cents..
www.ebags.comSearch Big Buddha faux leather and faux suede. Super cute!
www.alternativeoutfitters.com Everything on this site is vegan and adorable.
www.NeuAura.com My new favorite shoe site. All vegan and environmentally responsible. Boo-Yah! Not cheap but not outrageous either.
www.urbanoutfitters.com Find awesome vegan shoes, bags and faux leather and fur jackets here. Search the brands Deux Lux and Deena and Ozzy, lovelove.
www.OlsenHaus.com If your loaded$$$, or if you just wanna gawk at all the expensive fabulous vegan shoes. Ditto for Stella McCartney.
www.paylessshoesource.comIf your not loaded, like me! Zoe & Zac are organic and vegan and I love the Lela Rose line.
www.zappos.com Search for the brands Ocean Minded, Simple, Earth, or just type in Vegan!
There's a ton more cool sites to visit like Herbivore, Pangea, Healthy Bitch Daily (from the author of Skinny Bitch) Friends of Animals, Compassion over Killing, Farm Sanctuary...I'm getting carried away...I'll stop now. Happy Shopping!

HI, I'm new to the Kind Diet but not new to a vegan lifestyle... I have jumped in and out of it for a while now. I have Multiple Sclerosis and have personally seen the health benefits of radically changing my diet! I am so glad to have all of you for support!! Thanks!
