Vegan Lifestyle/Local Food Internships??

Hey everyone,
So, I just graduated from college and am now on the internship/job hunt. My passion is local food and food politics and I'm hoping to get into something along those lines. I'm thinking of applying for a PETA internship but I'd like to do something that focuses on getting local, fresh food to people who think they can't afford it. Any ideas? Thanks so much!
Amanda - I don't know where you are located, but here in the bay area I think we have quite a few organizations that work on food justice and sustainability, though they aren't all strictly vegan. My favorite here in Oakland CA is People's Grocery and some of the orgs that they work with:

Hope that helps . . .
I am fast becoming a strong Vegan believer. I've been a Vegetarian for health reasons for most of my adult life. I have been moving towards Veganism over the last year or two. Alicia's book helped to push me to really take hold of being Vegan. (Thanks Alicia!)
Here is my thing. I care a great deal about our environment and I would LOVE to be working for Heal the Bay or something along those lines. I've looked, but they are not hiring Admins right now. I have been an Executive Assistant/Admin for over 10 years now - and I would LOVE to find a GREEN company in Los Angeles, where I could apply my skills!
If anyone has any leads, please let me know!
