I have been thinking about trying a vegan diet for a long time and after reading Alicia's book, I think I am gonna give it a go. I am doing in mostly for health reasons, although helping the planet would be a good thing too. I have decided I am gonna try it for a month and see if I really look and feel healthier. I admit I am a bit of skeptic.........

Well...I wouldn't go cold turkey and just right away switch to becoming a vegan. You should go into it slowly. For one month you should work on taking certain things out of your diet each week (and cooking a few of Alicia's recipes each week) and by the end of the month you should then start your first full month of being vegan.

I recently became vegetarian, for environmental reasons and i really related to alicia's statement in the book that she didn't want to hurt the animals anymore. i wasn't much of a meat eater anyway, but boy do i love dairy! after reading the book, i have decided to incorporate as many vegan meals as possible. I have basically been going vegan every other day. I have decided that if i am going to eat dairy or eggs on those 'off' days it will be organic, to ensure my health and the animals'. So far those baby steps have been great, and i find that whenever i eat out i try to eat vegan so that i'm not eating conventional dairy or eggs. good luck!
