I have been following the Superhero diet for almost two weeks and suddenly my skin has broken out terribly! Has anyone experienced this? I had a very good diet for months prior to becoming vegan and following the macrobiotic diet. I did a 30-day detox diet three months ago and then followed a raw diet before becomming a "Superhero" ... could the acne be due to more detoxing?
The same thing happened to me but not that bad, i broke out even more but now is clearing back up, just have patient with your body. All that bad energy and toxins are getting rebellious and have to come out some way. Also ask your self what feelings are arising thats causing this? if you dont get an answer right away it will come.write your feelings down that also helps. I hope this helps you.
Thank you Yami, yes this does help... I have been stressed lately. But I read something Alicia wrote about fruit and was wondering if that could partially be the cause. I am going to stop eating fruit for a while and see what happens.
I'm actually getting a few pimples here and there too, nothing crazy but I had very clear skin before and I am the same story, "healthy diet" (chicken, fish, egg whites and veggies...) before and now about 2 weeks of superhero. I think it is most definitely detox symptoms. If you imagine how many years we put junk in our bodies, it must take a bit of time to truly detox. I'd say drink a TON of water, as much as you possibly can, with lemon and it should help clear up your skin as it flushes out your system. Exercise to clear your pores and shower immediately after. Try the sauna to sweat out toxins, and dry skin brushing is excellent before your morning shower. Good luck. I'll post again soon with an update.
Detoxification may be what's happing here with some of you but I'm not completely convinced. When I change what I eat radically, the results tend to be quick. When I'm on the right track I feel and look better, When I'm off balance, my skin tells me instantly. You may be reacting to a new ingredient of food in the superhero plan. Any number of new ingredients could be the culprit. Experiment eliminating some fruits. or soy or grains. I tend to see that moving the the right direction for your specific dietary needs should make you feel better, not break out. good luck, Justin
I too have experienced the not so lovely pimple detox symptom...not a pretty site...but I like what Justin Bean had to say here...I think I will look further into what I am eating and see if it's some new ingridient or the like causing these little break out beauties!! ew....lol...
