Hi Everyone...I am flirting with the idea of becoming a vegan. I have switched all of my cleaning products and almost all of my personal care products already and I am now making the transition to vegan food. I will be looking forward to chatting with all of you and learning from you too:):) So far the recipes look really yummy:):):)
Amanda:)
Hi Amanda!
I'm from Canada too!
I have been a Vegetarian since april, but after reading this book ( last week) i have decided to go Vegan. I dont know if i can do the superhero thing yet, but i am looking forward to trying some of the recipes!
I am in the process of switching most of my products as well! I dont know if you have a store close to you, But Lush is a great place to get vegan bath and body products! they make the best conditioner called Veganese! You have to try it!
Good luck on becoming Vegan! I hope we'll be able to support each other in this life journey!
Best of luck!
Hi Alysha! Thank you you so much and thanks for the Lush tip. I will definitely check it out:) Looking forward to chatting with you more:)
Amanda :)
I have yet to read the book! I am planning on picking it up tomorrow:)
You are going to Love the book. I wasn't even thinking about become vegan before I read it! And i have read many other books that portray the same message, but i found that they made it really depressing. They make you out to be a horrible person because you have ate meat for so long! The kind Diet allows you to slowly ease yourself into it without making you feel guilty!
Let me know how you like the first few chapters :)
Hi, I'm a fellow Canadian as well (currently in NB). I'm in the same boat as both of you, and super excited to get eggs and dairy out of my life. :o)
Love the book! I've read several anti-meat eater books, and this one is incredibly comfortable to read. :o)
Hi! I'm Canadian too, living in Montreal! I've been flirting with lacto-ovo vegetarianism for awhile, but this book is really convincing me to give it more than just a try, and it even has me seriously considering going vegan (which I never considered before, despite having a few vegan friends). Like Jennifer above me, I really liked the book because it wasn't anti-omnivore, and it was very positive, which is probably why I'm seriously thinking about going vegan. :)
Hi,I'm from Canada as well - Toronto. Have been a vegetarian for many years, but have wanted to go the vegan route for many. I read The Kind Diet (heard about it in a Peta newsletter). It's a lovely book Alicia. Has truly inspired me to take the full on vegan plunge. Started this week. Think your site is wonderful. Full of great tips and very supportive. Christina
Hi everyone, I'm from Ontario too...so great to see that many people from close by are taking this path! I actually started this journey by not eating dairy or gluten due to intolerance but it has been eye opening to the effects of food on the body, environment and animal welfare. My body is sooo much happier without these two things so now I am working on all meat (never was a huge eater of it)...sooo many great alternatives and better for everyone and everthing all around! :) I think the book and site are fantastic, thank you! Shari
Hi I am from Canada! Born in Ottawa, On. and now living in Thunder Bay, On. I have read The Kind Diet and I am so excited about this site The Kind Life! You are able to get so much info and tips on healthly living and natural nutrition... it's so helpful! You are able to meet lots of helpful caring people too!!! Today I visited a little spot here in Thunder Bay called the Organic Cafe. I had wanted to check it out for a little while and my hubby and I went right before dinner time. We sat down and looked over the menu. All veggie and vegan options... it was so neat and had a very relaxing vibe. The owners grow all of their own veggies and wheat grass organically at their home and green house. I tried a wheat grass shot for the first time and really enjoyed it!! It has anti aging benefits, lowers blood pressure, does wonders for the immune system... many many more benefits too... Awesome! I will be going back on Friday for supper. Can't wait!
