Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself-- My name is Angela, I'm 30 yrs old and live in Arkansas. My husband and I have been vegan for almost a year now. It was the best decision we ever made! I just finished Alicia's book over the weekend and I am so inspired! We're going to try our best to be superheroes (at least a few days a week to start with!). I look forward to getting to know you guys better. smiley-laughing.gif

Hey, and welcome! I'm new as well =)
Was your husband reluctant or willing to start the vegan lifestyle? My fiance is currently in Iraq and I'm going to try to persuade him to the lifestyle but he's a huge meat & potatoes kinda guy. Any helpful suggestions??

Welcome Angela! Lucky you that your husband is on board! I sympathise Sarah, my husband wants nothing to do with my lifestyle. Only thing that remotely seemed to affect him was when I slipped a few references in about conditions in slaughterhouses. I know, not really fair of me, but I hate the attitue so many people have. "Don't want to know, cause then I might have to change". Anyway, welcome Angela and good luck Sarah!

Welcome Angela! So great to hear your hubby is on board! My husband is supportive but not on board I hope with time I can get him to at least eat 70/30 Vegan/meat.

My husband was not on board to begin with. But then he saw me losing weight, having tons of energy and just feeling really great and he decided to give it a try. He started asking me questions about being vegan, factory farms etc. So I started giving him info (and book recommendations!). About a month later he was completely on board and we haven't looked back since. smiley-laughing.gif

I hope so too Sarah!
It also helped that my husband is a big animal lover- both of our dogs and both of our cats are rescues, so I think he was more open to being a vegan from an animal right's perspective.
