Tofu vs. Tempeh

Hi All:
I've heard that too much tofu is not good, too much estrogen? In a vegan diet how much tofu should one have, and what is the difference between tofu and tempeh? Can tempeh be eaten every day? Basically, I'm wondering what is the difference between the two.
I know that in many asian countries like Japan, seaweed and tofu is a daily staple in their diet, so what about tempeh, where does it originate from? Also, while on the subject, does seaweed contain a lot of sodium, same for miso and soy sauce?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Tempeh originated in Indonesia and is a fermented soy/grain product. I think you could eat tofu and/or tempeh every day without issue BUT a variety of foods will serve you better than any single source.
Seaweed, miso and soy sauce do contain sodium but again I think it is a thing of balance. Your body needs sodium but you might want to cut out/down on other sources of sodium if you are including a lot of other sources.
