For superhero or macrobiotic you have to make your own brown rice or grain every day. It takes 45 minutes in a regular pot. Less if you have a pressure cooker. I put it on first thing in the morning while I'm getting ready and eat it at every meal of the day. Then make another pot the next morning.
Amy, I use ''River Whole Grain Brown Rice" that I get from the regular supermarket. It's still chewy but it's good and does not come out really hard like some other brands. They come in about 20 oz. bags in the rice/grain aisle. That's what works for me!
I buy Nishiki Organic Brown Rice and use a rice cooker. I put it into small glass containers as soon as it is done and refrigerate it. The servings are perfect to take to work. I am a teacher and only have about 15 minutes for lunch. I'll usually wrap it cold in a nori sheet with different ingredients. I find the small glass containers are my lifesaver. Good luck!
