Another Question (Sweet Tea)

Hi. I had another question to run by you guys. Living in the South, I have been drinking sweet tea since I was a kid. Although after reading the book I completely changed the way I ate, I have yet to give up sodas. I thought about making sweet tea instead, just using less sugar, as well as lacking the carbonated water which is another bad thing. I can drink it relatively light on the sugar using 1/4 to 1/2 cup (believe that's light compared to the 1 1/2 - 2 cups I'm accustomed to), but I was wondering if there was a healthier alternative. I have been reading about Stevia, but I am afraid it is going to use the same route as artificial sweeteners like Sweet'n'low and splenda which I'd like to stay away from. I'm not sure if brown rice syrup would work or if there is another alternative. Does anyone have any advice or ideas on how to make sweet tea? I'd really like to break the final straw and get rid of these sodas for good. Thanks so much for any help!

I bet brown rice syrup would work or agave? I pretty much just learned to like plain tea with lemon or limes squeezed in.
