Toasted nori "burritos"

The toasting is what seemed to make it fall apart. I toasted it over an open flame on my stove. Should I do it in the toaster oven?
Check your package of nori. Most nori sheets are sold pre-toasted. If the nori is kind of black with a greenish tinge, it's probably already toasted and you can just use it as is. If you got nori that is not toasted, it will be strongly green. You would toast that before eating, but not on an open flame. Try a dry skillet.
But check your nori. Most of the nori I see at the the store is already toasted. Just pull it out of the package and roll it up.
I can't wait to try these, they sound great.
I'll try it. I had read to toast it over a flame in Mark Bittman's recipe for vegan sushi bowls (which is awesome by the way -- and superhero)
i got raw nori, toasted it and it was pretty legit. i also soaked it and it was grand, but kind of hard to bite through...however, ill say it was worth the effort.
also, jenny, i've been toasting mine in a skillet, not over a flame. i dont think i have the guts to give that a go yet, but the skillet route seems to be gentle and quite affective.
I think mine were pre-toasted and they did not fall apart. I used brown rice, avacado, cucumber, carrots, tomato and spring lettuce with shoyu. Very delish!
I had a veggie burrito at the Hub Baja Grill in Siesta Key, Fl. It had asparagus in it and was delicious. I am trying to find the recipe but it isn't a chain.
wow cool, nori burritos. They sound good...I'm thinking with vegan wheat meat and broccoli and some other fillings...yummy!
